They should've made the opt out deadline the same day that the schedules came out, and allowed some exceptions. Without a deadline, this is going to happen all the way until kickoff and throughout the season. It's setting a terrible precedence. I understand them being flexible, given the circumstances, but it's being taken advantage of.
We still have a talented squad, but it's getting thin with the opt outs and transfers. Unless our other big comps suffer the same, we may be in for a real rude awakening.

Yes, absolutely this, paired with the Covid stuff.
If there was a culture issue with wanting out, Shelvin, Neil Farrell & Kary Vincent all could have just declared for the 2020 draft.

Shelvin opted out of the NFL draft in 2020 so this would be very strange. Maybe he caught it from the OL group that all tested positive.

I'm getting to the point where I almost hope the 2020 season doesn't even happen. I'm not interested in seeing our players opt out like flies and watch a bunch of young kids play a weird season with no fans. Just hit the reset button for 2021 and put this one out to pasture. I'm sick and tired of hearing about players leaving the program for one reason or another.

He is the top DL on a few mock draft bards. If he has a monster 2020 he is a solid 1st rd pick.
