You all know it.
Not because we lost either, would have been bad either way.
Just poor decisions, all day.

This is one of the least fundamentally sound teams in recent memory. That's on the coaches.

Of course: you can lead a horse to water...

For sure players choked, but coaxing is is just bad

Base Running. = F. Kids are watching the ball every single one of them and not looking at the coach. Watch them. Every player, every fricking one of them

All I can say is thank god for a Todd Peterson

They lack discipline and awareness, and that's squarely on the coaches. Baserunning discipline, plate discipline, and the Pitchers.... My goodness.

They are certainly not an overall poorly coached team, but they are definitely lacking in the some key areas that keeps them from being elite.

You’re overreacting in an immature fashion. Vietmieir lost the battle when he could not execute his offspeed and let the count get to 3-2. At that popint you had to keep throwing fastballs and hoping for a fly ball or a grounder. You could not walk. Him with who was on. Deck.

Then Hess came in with the game tied and blew it. Sure, in retrospect, you could try something else, but coaches don’t have the benefit of hindsight.

What do you do different that wins the game?
We lost this game and maybe this series when our game one starter left after 2 innings.
Do you continue to pitch your ace true freshman after he told you he thought something was wrong with his arm?

Pulmonary made the line up card. It's hard when you're playing 8 vs 9.

You are correct in that, in the moment, the coaches had limited options. The problem is they had been coaching these guys since September and the pitching technique and psychology is just poor. The team as a whole (except for Watson and Smith) have no idea when to be aggressive at the plate and when to be patient. As a result, we have way too many strke outs looking and pop ups from fishing at bad pitches. Beyond all that, how does one of the premier programs in the country not have a single reliable left handed pitcher? That is a recruiting problem.

Agreed, we desperately need a couple left handed arms out of the bullpen against this Florida state team. Not recruiting that need is a failure of roster construction and falls squarely on the shoulders of the head coach.

The base running cost one, maybe two, runs. The home runs woould NOT have beaten LSU without the walks. It is simple as that and has happened ALL season. No one guy lost this game including the coach. To go from 0-2 to a walk or full count is just ridiculous.

Keep it simple: we need more left-handed pitchers.

I would like to see a statistic on how many pitches on average it takes an lsu pitcher to get a strikeout after getting ahead 0-2 in the count? It seems like the book is out on Dunn that if you get down early in the count, you just need to be patient and his pitchers will fill up the count.

Just getting onnhere for the first time since the game ended and couldn’t hear crap during the game because of the 45 kids running and screaming at my in-laws house.

Never did hear why Henry was taken out? I was buzzed watching but i don’t recall him being in trouble. Was his pitch count high?

The arms they needed weren’t ready. We seem to be consistently late at having arms ready to go.

TEN BB's did us in. You can't beat anyone when you give TEN free passes to the other team. You are putting yourself into pressure pitching situations from the stretch. Clean it up today, and win Tigers!

I think it was a very well coached game. They just outplayed us and they just have more talent than we have. Now that part might be on the coaches, but the plan was sound.
