Only question is with what we will have coming back will there be room to take anyone else?

LSU currently has 13 players with 2 Seniors on the roster. They have 3 signees/commits for next year. That means at least one underclassman on this year's roster won't be here next season. That is likely Eason, but no one can say for sure. If he wants to return for next season Wade is not going to turn him away.
I suspect to you are going to see anywhere from 2-5 players on this year's roster transfer out. That's not a knock on Wade. It is just the nature of college basketball now. Ideally you would love to build a team with several guys developing over the course of 3 or so years. But that is just not how things are done now. Teams are now rebuilt year to year.

quote:Yeah why even try to recruit talented players? Might as well just shut down the program because a 5 star is taking a little time to develop.
What difference does it make if these guys aren't developing once they get here?

Because we have a bunch of pussies as fans.

Because it's college basketball and you win by having better players than the other team.

guys like Trendon Watford/Naz Reid and not have anything to show for it?
Naz Reid won the SEC and went to a sweet 16. Not sure what you're bitching about.
Its not like Wade is getting top 5 players and they aren't panning out. He is signing guys ranked in the 20's. Meaning while they are 5 stars, they are either super raw or have an obvious deficiency.
For example:
Naz Reid - super raw. could shot but had no back to the basket or traditional big man skills.
Efton Reid: only played basketball for a few years and lacks elite athleticism.
Trendon Watford: Also lacked elite athleticism. Also he improved in year 2.
Tremont Waters: Not a 5 star but was short. IDK if you can say he improved but he definitely didn't regress.
Cam Thomas: Lacked explosion but could score at will. Not sure how you could complain about him.
I think thats all the 5 stars but here is a list of non 5 stars that without a doubt improved over their time at LSU:
Javonte Smart
Skylar Mays
Darius Days
Eric Gaines (He's improved a ton just this year)
Emmitt Williams
That's the majority of the players that have played under Wade. Every other guy either played one year after transferring in or didn't pan out and transferred away.

I’ll never understand why anyone complains about Naz Reid. Dude hit some big time shots, was a major contributor on a sweet 16 team, and is now getting run in the NBA.

Dude was basically 14/7 for the season and people bitched because they expected him to come in and average 24/12 or something.

so you think just b/c Efton isn't performing like a top 10 pick he isn't developing?
He's never played basketball before where someone could block his shot. He's had an eye opening experience, especially once SEC play started. Kid still has a very bright future and he and the coaches now know what he will need to work on this offseason so he can fulfil his goal of playing at the next level at some point.

Saw where Wade got commitment from #4 center in 2022 class
Does he have a name and hometown?

It's becoming fairly obvious that you're just Dale Brown

The kid isn’t the problem, the problem is the gurus who labeled him a five star player didn’t know what they were doing.
Fans expected a difference maker, instead we got an up and comer.

Yohan Traore - from California
If Allen reclassifies, and Reid stays, next years team will be a legit title contender
1. Miller
2. Murray
3. Phillips (5 star Frosh)
4. Traore (5 star Frosh)
5. Reid
Backups
G - Gaines
G - Allen
G - Williams
F - Fudge
F - Mwani
F - Shareef
F - Ree
C - Colbert
Start big and then have a closing lineup of (something like)
1. Miller
2. Gaines
3. Murray
4. Phillips
5. Traore
That's and ELITE defensive team with some crazy switching ability.

He has 1 NCAA trny win where he coached.
You keep spouting this disingenuous line in every thread. Fine, I’ll go with it and give him zero credit for the Sweet 16 run, but what did you want from him after that?
2019-20: LSU was absolutely making the tournament for the third straight season. He can’t force the NCAA to play through COVID. Maybe we make a Final Four run or maybe we get bounced in round 1. We will never know. How was he supposed to win a game in a tournament that didn’t happen?
2020-21: LSU (IMO) was under-seeded and beat, pretty handily, a St Bonnie team that a lot of people had as a team to watch and had LSU on upset alert. Then played tough with 1-seed Michigan, ultimately losing.
2021-22: Ongoing
So, where exactly were all these tourney wins supposed to come from if he’s not allowed credit for the Sweet 16 run? Are you upset he didn’t take a 2-16 SEC team to the NCAAT in year 1? He took alllllllllll the way to year 2 to win the SEC (but not make the sweet 16, as that was clearly Benford’s coaching that did it…)

It’s INSANE because you could have an entire 5 on the bench that would still be competitive in the SEC
I mean this 5 alone could win games
G - Gaines
G - Allen
G - Williams
F - Fudge
F - Mwani
THE BENCH ALONE COULD WIN GAMES

That 5 literally just won the A&M game, except replace the 5 star Allen with Shareef

Just posting this here. Competition in the SEC is not letting up.
