Of course there is if you enjoy watching LSU lose to ranked teams 56% of the time. He won't be able to skate through an easy schedule in the SEC. He's barely been able to at Notre Dame for that matter and when he does make the playoffs his teams get their bell rung. In other years, he has nice showings in the Citrus and Music city bowls.
Of course Woodward wants to give him $100 Million to do that. Real exciting news.

Luke Fickell on less money a year than Ed Orgeron made. Which would be $9 million less than what Woodward is going to pay Brian Kelly. Fickell is actually in a playoff spot currently with Cinci fricking natti of all teams, and kicked the shite out of Brian Kelly's Notre Dame to get there. Meanwhile at Cincinatti hes happy with a top 40 recruiting class in the nation. Brian Kelly lost to him with top 12 recruiting classes the last 5 years. Fickell is young and has a history coaching at a top school in Ohio state. Brian Kelly is old, has shite offensive teams and loses to every top ranked squad he's ever faced. Any more questions you'd like answered?

Kelly was 12-0 his last year at Cinci fricking natti. Of course those teams were never allowed to sniff a BCS opportunity back then, which I assume you'll blame on the head coach, but you're basically arguing for Kelly minus about a dozen more years of winning at a prominent D1 program. This place is amazing tonight.

Do you realize Brian Kelly won 34 of his 40 games at Cincinnati? So you like Fickell but don't like the guy who had every bit as much success and more at Cincinnati as well, before moving on to Notre Dame and having tremendous success there as well? Our fan base is truly amazing. I'm embarrassed to be associated with some of you.

Barely skate through as in he plays one of the softest schedules in the country maybe playing a few low ranked teams in the ACC and still has trouble making the playoffs. When he does make the playoffs, his teams get destroyed by good teams out of the SEC or Big 10. When he doesn't make the playoffs he's coaching Notre Dame to big games in the Music city bowl in 2014, or the Citrus bowl in 2018.
I can't believe LSU fans are acting like paying Brian Kelly $10 to $15 million a year for 10 years is a good hire.

Fickell is actually beating Brian Kelly's Notre Dame with Cincinatti, and playing other Power 5 teams like Indiana, Ohio state a few years ago and others. Tell me more about how Brian Kelly is worth 10 to 15 million a year.

It's much different beating Power 5 schools like Notre Dame and Indiana with a group of 5 school (Luke Fickell and Cincinnati) than it is losing to group of 5 schools named Cincinnati with a Power 5 blue blood in Notre Dame (Brian Kelly). It's funny isn't it

Maybe if Woodward offered a good coach a massive contract (for them) say $4.5M a year for 10 years Fickell would be knocking down the door to coach here. Instead he's offering a coach who hasn't won a thing at one of the blue bloods of college football $10 to $15 million a year for 10 years.
