There is an easy fix. NCAA needs to amend the rules and allow Petes points from his freshman season to be counted. Simple Fix!

I can’t believe people are even making the comparison between Pete and this guy. The conditions are not remotely similar for all the reasons stated.

Because, if Detroit Mercy gets the invite to the CBI, he will have the record, and there will be no asterisk next to his name in the record books.

The game is so different now, he truly isn’t breaking any records but setting a new record with a new brand of college basketball. You really can’t compare the two.

This has absolutely nothing to do about race, simply put records should not be re-written because of a 1 time rule exemption where players get an whole extra year of playing eligibility where they can literally play for 5 full years without ever redshirting. The 2019-2020 basketball season was not even really cut short like say baseball was that year. The 2020-2021 basketball season went on like normal. This kid has played in 144 games or about 29 per season over 5 years.
To allow someone to have an artificially longer career should mean they should be ineligible to break career records. You cant compare 5 full seasons to 4 or 3.
