He has less FG attempts in 5 years than pistol had in 3. Of course three pointers are a big part

sounds like this kid might make a heck of an intramural player at a school like LSU

id say it’s a pretty unbreakable record when it takes the extenuating circumstances of a global pandemic in order for someone to even be eligible to sniff the record.

Lmao. Oh so now we have issues with 5 year Covid players.

No. Not now.

The extra year was always ridiculous and stupid.

I don't want this. I also think it's wrong to pay 50k to get a player to break a record instead of doing it for the team

It's weird, suddenly folks are remembering Pete.

Remind me again where LSU plays its home basketball games.

Let’s say this dude gets a sixth season somehow. Another 30 games.

He would have to average 132.8 ppg to match Pistol’s 44.2 career ppg

This board has already spent way too much time talking about Detroit Mercy’s basketball team

Did you know that Dick Vitale (hates Will Wade btw) coached at Detroit Mercy?

I see the CBI inviting Detroit Mercy to get some spotlight cast to their sorry event.

The total price range for DM will be the entry fee of $27,500 and whatever their travel costs.

Of course they will. The CBI has already said on record that they “aren’t the national championship.” Their prerogative is to get storylines and eyeballs on their tournament, not invite the most “worthy” teams

Which makes any record set at this event all the more meaningless

Uh. It is unbreakable. 3,667 points. 3 years. No 3 point line. Lmao.

Your know why it was believed to be unbreakable? Because college basketball eligibility runs out after 4 seasons. You left out all his seasons point totals are counted, but Pete has another 1000 points from his freshman season not counted…the NCAA should do the right thing and count freshman points…if this was the case this player from Detroit Mercer would not even be close…

It’s is laughable that you actually believe this young man is on par with Pete in “breaking” a record…

Pete’s freshman total is not even added to his numbers, yet this player has been given 5 seasons, with a shot clock and three point line and STILL could not surpass Pete…yet now when no team with a losing record has been invited to the CBI before his 14-19 team is getting an invite…

This is beyond pathetic…when someone scores more points than Pete, without hitting a three, and in 83 games or less, THEN it will be a legit record breaker…

It was once believed unbreakable because you had 4 years and somewhat decent team to make a run in march. He had 5 years and can pay their way into a bs tourney. No sympathy for him.
