Obama needs to appoint a committee to study this.

The Feds definitely need to get involved.

If the ump didn't adjust his zone after the 2nd inning, it would've been a 5 hour game

Games normally run right at 3 hrs. If you get a good pitchers duel with a good umpiring crew, they can be quite a bit shorter. The last two days, we've had this umpiring crew, which means more pitches, more pitching changes and more arguments. We've also had rain delays, injuries, errors...all contributing to longer games.

Friday was miserable, but they won. Last night was aggravating, but it was one of the most exciting games that we've had in a while and I enjoyed it.

These things tend to balance out, so hopefully they got all of their bad breaks and mistakes out of the way in this regional so they can be sharp from here on out.

besides the longer a 9 inning game the better it usually is... see Yankees/Red Sox

Just curious about the consensus here... should a regular baseball game be shorter than that timewise?

This is Playoff baseball and games take longer during the Playoffs than during the regular season. The same thing happens during the Major League Playoffs.

Because of ESPN the home plate umpire had to hold the game up several times between innings before he got the go ahead signal from the left-field cameraman who waved a towel to signify the game could proceed.

College baseball should play 15 minute periods instead of 20, IMO

I agree, but think the last one should be 18.

I didn't either until it was over and I locked at the clock and it was after midnight here.

Anyway... I have another college baseball question.

I get that the NCAA toned down the balls and bats in order to protect the players... so why not just move the fences in a few feet to retain a few home runs in the game?

Some programs have done that. PM has hinted he's considering it. I think it would require two sets of hitting record books therefore I don't like it.

13 runs, 18 hits, 8 errors, 12 walks, and eight pitcher changes will make for a long nine inning game.

This is surprising to you or are you bored and in need of being entertained?.
