Why? You think police like the public to bring up cases they have failed to solve?

There isn't any good evidence. It was clear about a week into the case.

I'm sure BRPD would love to somehow have that change (legally) so they could properly identify (and arrest, if alive) the killer. To act like they wouldn't is silly.

But, as it stands, they don't have enough evidence. It's not a failure if there wasn't anything there, in the first place. It happens. It doesn't make the murder OK or anything like that. Some murders don't get solved because there isn't enough evidence.

Imagine defending the BRPD.

Bizarre.

No, I just have family in BR that stayed close to it (NOT on TD) for a while and this was their theory and after hearing them talk about it, I feel like it's the most plausible.

The post you commented “bad take” on stated:

1. The evidence was “in the ghetto”
2. The BRPD would like to move on from the case

Not sure either of these are a “bad take”

They appear true

This is ridiculous.

Sometimes crimes don't get solved, especially extremely random ones. It's a sad reality, and I have no insight into what the police did or didn't do (neither do you), but to say something like this is absurd.

No cameras, no weapon, no witnesses, random shooting in the pitch black of night. There isn't really even a crime scene to examine at the shooting location if they shot her from inside their car.

It sucks, but it doesn't mean the police didn't try/aren't trying.

ETA:

This thing will be solved by someone flipping on their buddy or if they have DNA/fingerprints on a casing/bullet that appears in the system. That's really it. And these hoodrats don't flip on each other as much as the TV shows like to portray.

News flash. Your next mayor will be a black Democrat. I grew up in Baton Rouge. My parents still live there. The city/parish government has been shite for decades, with the exception of the Kip Holden years. It’s so bad that they can’t even keep the streets clean. Thank God for Keep Tiger Town Beautiful. Those folks are saints. They do what the city can’t. I agree that St. George is good for EBR Parish. If Edwards is working with them, then kudos to him. That said, he really needs to forge a stronger partnership with LSU. As I said before, hoodrats on campus is bad for both the university and the city.

Imagine shitting on BRPD. If they’re so bad, go join them and show them how it’s done.

“Don’t criticize the police unless you join them” is certainly a take.

A crazy, moronic take. But a take nonetheless.

EASY there. They did their best. What more do you want?

Some crimes are just unsolvable. And Allie's murder isn't any more important than every other murder out there.

They tried, ok. I hear they tried REALLY hard too. But come on. Nobody's talking. Maybe the killer is dead. I mean, he probably is dead.

I wonder if the family knows a lot more than the general public or if they're in the dark too?

This all has me remember the murder of Suhib Yousef in Southdowns. How has there been nothing more on this case?!? BRPD / Local media just moves on with no updates? .....

They tried. What more do you want? The killers might even be dead. Have you considered that?

You're probably safe here. Your kids are likely, mostly safe. It's time to move on.

Not even remotely close to what I said. But you already know that.

However, inferring that they don’t care to solve this case is foolish. It seems as if several posters in this thread think they can easily solve this case, so go right on ahead.

From a BRPD detectives mouth. The killer of this young lady has since been killed. At the time of the murder they were told by a previous chief not to put any extra effort into solving this murder she's no more special than any other victim in BR. Dude was a racist piece of garbage and I'm sorry this family was robbed of seeing justice because of that former POS chief

Does the chief's name rhyme with Smurphy Small?
