What upwards trajectory?
Each of Coach Fargas' years at LSU, except one, has been better than the two you cite for her predecessor. That is called upward trajectory. And that one, this year, was plagued by injuries to multiple key players.

So LSU has been on an upward trajectory, despite having an equal/worse record from her 1st season in the 4 seasons since.
Brilliant.
The funny thing is that the men were actually on an upward trajectory until this year, in a much more competitive and diverse sport, and people are calling for JJ's head (rightfully so)

I am curious what the expectations are for next season. Does any improvement keep her job? It be difficult not to be better then this season.
I mean if they are going to keep her for one more year, there better be major changes with this staff. If not I would stay hit the road. I don't know why people keep blaming the injuries. Even without injuries we are an average SEC team. Plus, we wouldn't be in such a mess if she would have recruited decent in her FIVE years here. Its so aggravating how no one is held accountable. Can she scheme and coach hard? Yes, but that is actually less then half the job. Recruiting is probably 60-80% of college ball today and she can't even land players with a pulse.
Then we continue to get leftover transfers from other programs. I mean I have never seen anything like this. I wonder what the excuses will be next season after a couple injuries or somewhat jumps ship this offseason.
To me, not only does she NEED a NCAA tournament appearance but she needs a top 20-25 class to keep her job. Not meeting any those criteria, she needs to be canned immediately.
It will be probably one of the most embarassing things ever for the LSU administration if we don't fire JJ or Nikki after this year. Nikki took a program a good level or talent and drove this program into rock bottom, getting worse every year, fielding the worst team in over two decades. JJ has the #1 player in the country, along with plenty of talent and a #4 recruiting class, and can't even make the NCAA tournment.

Well she has had FIVE years to fix this issue. Does she really get brownie points for suspending players who don't follow the rules? Thats something that all coaches should abide by. If anything from all her suspensions, its a testament to the type of players she is recruiting. I mean recruiting is part of her job description. I am sure a shite load of coaches can do a masterful job with talent, but part of this job is relating to players and coaches and being able to bring in big time players. Based off recruiting and comments made from recruits, she does a really bad job of that. She is lazy and a turn off to practically everyone. Why do you think she brings in transfer leftovers every season?

How good of a team is Nikki supposed to have next season? Does she have some good freshman players or transfers coming in? Does LSU WB get any decent fan support? How much does Nikki make?

I think a lot of us have underestimated the extent to which budget issues have affected and will continue to affect LSU athletics.
I would be surprised if any coach with any sort of substantial buyout is let go in the near future, regardless of results.

Pending on how much she makes which I think is a lot, you can easily get someone for 1/2 the price to do as shitty of a job as her.
