We're screwed.

Saddle up for more of the same until 2019 (at the very earliest).

Right, however it just goes to show that more of the same.. Miles should go another route and let go for once.. like other prestige coaches have had to do lately.

You would think LSU brass would have some PR firm telling them "maybe don't say you shopped around and couldn't get anyone better." That's two in two days, bang up job fellas.

If Les is the coach he deserves to have his choice of assistants, but the BOS doesn't have to make Cam the highest paid OC in the nation.

If Les is mediocre again he shouldn't be able to blame Alleva or anyone else for his assistants.

I don't think so. It seems as if Alleva is giving Les rope to hang himself with. I think that Les seat is red hot and Alleva is itching for an opportunity to pull the trigger.

This makes Beckwith and Dural the 2 biggest recruits besides Lawrence of Neville. They were before but we really need them now.

In a 15-minute interview from his office, Alleva, the eighth-year athletic director, said he’s fully behind Les Miles and that the two – Miles and Alleva – have agreed that offensive changes need to be made moving forward.

“My plans are to help Les Miles win and be the coach here until he wants to retire. My goal is to help the man win,” Alleva said.

quote:

“At the end of the day, after doing due diligence, we came to the conclusion that Les Miles is the right man for the job, and we’re going to back him 100 percent and support him and help him win at the highest level,” Alleva said.

Those are some pretty strong statements. Can this be over now so the current group can recruit over the next week or so without the uncertainty?

Ok.

Fine. He stays, but what happens in regard to his contract?

Roll him over? For how much per year?

How can Alexander be ok with paying a coordinator that has shite results 1+ mill per year while the professors are going hungry at LSU?

Wasteful spending is wasteful spending no matter the amount.

Cut his salary in half and take care of the 3 best coaches on the staff.

What that article tells me is that Alleva is feeling the heat from how much he screwed up the last 3 weeks.

He's been told to calm the waters and do it fast. The mess he's made is affecting recruiting and donor commitments.

I think it's a smart play for Alleva.

He's giving Miles the rope to hang him self.

I have been a rather vocal anti-Cam guy on here but I have come to realize that firing him now will cause more harm than good. many people on here, I suspect the younger set with little or no management experience have uber quick trigger fingers and think firing people is the only answer. fire javi, fire manieri, fire miles, fire peveto, fire alleva, fire alexander, etc etc etc.

I don't like cam Cameron as our OC but he shouldn't be fired now. he's the only qb coach worst a shite miles can get and we need continuity with our qb's in the worst way.

we also need serious coaching when it comes to BLOCKING. Utah and BYU would kick our arse because of blocking. they actually coach how to block and REQUIRE it to be on the field. i'm not talking about OL, i'm talking about all offensive personnel.

a new OC right now would probably be bad.

This is actually a brilliant move on Alleva's part. He knows damn good and well that Miles won't make the coaching changes necessary to be successful, and even if he did, he would override them anyways. He's giving Miles enough rope to hang himself. I didn't know you had it in you, Joe.
