...as analysts has a very Mainieri feel to it. I shouldn’t second guess O but damn that’s a lot of former players getting important jobs. Are they qualified?

More qualified to be analysts than you are to post.

When you play like Bennie Logan played for LSU, you should be able to get a FOOTBALL job at the university. In fact, Id argue that you should be able to do anything for your school that you have a passion for, if youre qualified.

Plus it sends the right message to the recruits and players.

Dude go shite on someone else's parade, not one of our own.

Wake me up when O hires Reuben Randle as the OC.

Until then, Kevin Faulk as RB Coach is the most “significant” hire, and he has experience.

You have to see the difference between the following:

Kevin Faulk
Kelvin Shephard
Eddie Kennison
Bennie Logan

Nolan Cain
Micah Gibbs
Sean Ochinko
Jared Foster
Nate Fury
Hunter Kiel

To watch film? Yes former players are more than qualified to watch film.

Not all analyst spots are created equal. There are analyst that are very involved with the day to day and are important but then there are some that just watch film and give the coaches their feedback. For these people it is basically an entry level coaching position.

Are you referring to him coaching HS kids or the previous role at LSU that didn’t involve coaching RBs?

Analysts are basically unlimited. If Bennie Logan played in a very effective 4 man front in the NFL it is highly probable that he can point out something that no one else sees.

I love the guys that have lived and breathed football getting a look at film for our boys.

It is more than just coaching. It is developing a family and life long involvement culture with LSU football. It is great for recruiting. When your playing days are over there are opportunities to get into coaching if you pour your heart into LSU football. Also a great opportunity for mentorship from some LSU greats. I don't see a single negative in this situation.

You can't sell the program to recruits on "Tigers for life" and not open opportunities for former players to develop.

2 years ago could anyone name a member of our shadow staff?

Agree with this.

A. They are more than qualified to be off-field analysts

B. It creates and encourages an "LSU family" type culture

C. They are ex-NFL guys with a variety of system backgrounds

D. All of the above helps with recruiting and winning football games

That's exactly what Mainieri does, which is what he's saying.

But, I'll say winning a championship a couple of months ago gives you the leeway to do things like this compared to winning one 10+ years ago and not having as much recent success in the postseason and doing this.

Just STFU. If they weren't qualified they wound not have been hired. Moron
