Some programs tend to fill their triple a roster with send downs rather than up and comers. It's a historical fact. But I have noticed more guys coming up into triple a than before.

The recent trend has been to send them to AAA first with the intention of not keeping them there very long. It's a smart idea considering you will face a lot of guys that have been in the big leagues before.

That's what happened with Lemahieu. He started the season here with the AAA Skysox and was called up to the Rockies within a month.

Astros related...

When Carlos Correa was moved to AAA from AA he stayed there for 2 or 3 weeks then was called up to the Astros.

Put him at 3rd. Luis Valbuena and Marwin Gonzalez are fricking terrible.

DJ played the majority of the 2011 season in the minors. He played 50 games in AA, 58 in AA, and then 30 for the Cubs. The following season he played 61 games in AAA and then 80 for the Rockies. In 2013, he played 33 games in AAA and then was called up and has remained ever since. It took a couple years before he was on the 25 man roster and not the 40 man roster. It's similar to what's been going on with Mahtook the past couple seasons.

I thought y'all would want to know that Andrew Stevenson also made the jump from A to AA today.
