Using steroids gives you more power. It doesn’t help you hit better.
Doesn't help your hand-eye coordination, but it can make your bat speed faster, your hands faster, your wrists turn over faster, turn dribblers into hard hit balls, and pop flies into homers.
That helps you hit better.

Hasn’t this been going on forever in baseball? Didn’t people say Bobby Thompson’s walkoff was because of someone behind the scoreboard with binoculars stealing signals?
Yes, it's been going on forever. . People acting like it's a new thing or like they didn't do it are lying probably. The Astros just did it better than most teams do. I still think what they did is wrong, but if you know that about the Astros, why wouldn't you change your signs up the entire game?

frick those cheaters hope they like the chin music they are about to get

Can’t believe how this is being overblown. Everyone tries to steal signs - they were just the most successful.
It’s on the pitching team to change things up if you feel your signs have been decoded.

Ha. MLB treats blatant cheaters differently than gamblers.
for me it was always an ego and power play by MLB because Rose never bet against the team, so he had to always give it his best...not to justify, but the punishment seems harsh

People here don’t love Bregman anymore?

Peter Rose should be in the Hall of Fame. He bet ON his team.

Sounds like a bunch of big fat pussies in here to me

Your title would suggest that a buzzer was used, JMO.
I think I know more than the average reader on the subject, and it was the first thing I thought when reading your title
Carry on.

They are sick in the head and too far gone. It's a disease. Best thing you can do is ignore the infected and pray for them and their loved ones.

The Astros used a video feed from a centerfield camera to decode the catcher's signals.
As the link I posted says, "by using electronics to steal signs..."

Sign stealing using the methods they did is what crossed the line. There is a difference between a runner on second peeking at the catcher's signs and relaying them to the hitter (been going on since the beginning of the sport) as opposed to using electronic means like cameras. That is where the outrage is coming from.

This is hilarious following Mainieri's horribly awkward forced speech at his preseason press conference about how Bregman was innocent.
Mainieri begged the media to ask him a question nobody cared about, then gave his prepared speech - statistics included - and now Bregman comes out and personally apologizes after Mainieri made a fool of himself defending him.

Those guys did cross the line
People on here are ok w it bc he was an LSU legend
Pure homerism and nothing more
If Bregman went to A&M people on here would be crucifying him
That was a filthy way to cheat and I have lost all respect

No matter what Mainieri does, you criticize him for it.

I was trying to make a point that stealing signs and knowing the exact pitch coming is worse than steroids.
Most MLB players didn’t make it to the league based on steroid use, they are extremely gifted athletes.
Knowing the pitch before it’s thrown gives the batter a significantly better chance at hitting the ball.
