Paul got swept 3 times in conference play, missed the SECT and a regional in 2011. LSU still led the country in attendance - by a wide margin.

This stat has been padded by the “paid” label more than Pete Rose’s hitting title by being a player/manager and only putting himself in games against the worst pitchers in the league.

Umm, you might want to lookup the years Rose won the batting titles

I wish LSU would still release actual attendance. But of course they won’t because it got too embarrassing

So sorry for those who have no past to remember.

I suspect that all teams pad attendance numbers in some way or another. Few if any count the actual butts in the seats. And when you think about it what matters most is the inflow of cash.

Except the number of people who actually show will be a forward indicated of future sales. People who find alternative ways to watch or find the live experience lacking will be more inclined to release their tickets. It’s even more likely when the team is in decline as it is now.

LSU was one of the few that did but I guess it got too embarrassing saying 10k paid 4K actual attendance

Good grief.
Why not also blame Obama?
LSU’s fan loyalty arose out of a program that was consistently one of, if not the best in the country.
That program is long gone.
But yes, go ahead and blame Hillary, or whoever.
That will certainly help matters....

A better indicator is the demand for season tickets. Many sports fans renew their tickets even in down years and aren't eager to abandon their teams. Wait lists disappearing and renewals from long term ticket holders taking a steep drop are better indicators of the general fan's long range view.

because Obama didn’t limit the number of tickets they could sell like JBE did.

I consider our streak unbroken. An * needs to be put by last year and this year because of covid.
