I do think we are in the midst of a historic run with whats happening at alabama. Saban and his teams will be talked about for decades.
With that said, LSU could and should be doing a hell of a lot better than we are doing now, regardless of what saban and bama are doing.
Someone has to challenge them, and right now it ain't us.

The worst part about it is the tremendous academic growth that Bama has experienced since Saban has been there. 65% of students out of state and a complete overhaul of the campus. Short-sited LSU leadership. Spend the $ on the coach and the benefits will be tremendous on and off the field.

This is pretty obvious and has been the case since 2012. Not sure why Tiger fans have such a hard time giving Bama credit. It will be this way until St Nicholas retires and LSU gets its soul back from 1/9/12.

You're right. Cholly Mac couldn't beat 'Bama. Saban did when they were down except he lost to Dennis Franchione team 31-0. Miles did okay at first until Saban got it going. SHould all 130 FBS teams fire their coach because of Alabama? That'd be a long line! I'm not an O fan but an LSU fan. I'll be watching closely from my 30 plus year season tickets you'll never get your grimey hands on. If you'd rather piss and moan about the team or the recruits that DIDN'T come, go elsewhere to bitch, please. I come her to read about the team, not hear the negative crap.

Texas hired Hermann, A&M hired Jimbo, Florida State hired Taggert. All 3 programs look to be trending up very very quickly, and will be national powers again very very soon. Don't mother fricking tell me LSU will be the same if they fire Special Ed for a much better coach because that statement is fricking bull shite. Very dumb thread.

Respecting Alabama doesn’t mean you can’t expect excellence. Look at the programs around the SEC that are investing heavily in getting to the next level no matter the cost and then look at what LSU is doing... we already have an incredible fan base, facilities, and talent base but we squander it because the folks in charge aren’t being held accountable for their terrible decision making. Bama is just another team, it’s unacceptable to allow their success to justify our failures.
