Look at the OPS for every hitter on the team. Thompson was .787 coming into today. Thats subpar. Merrifield, travinski, cranford, and stevenson are all close to that if not higher. And they all see more pitches than thompson.

Identical in hitting, BB/k ratio, and very close in OBP. Thompson has him slightly in slg because of the homers and I think is probably the biggest separator.

Plus I did hear a stat a while back that Thompson was batting over .400 when leading off an inning.

Y'all can keep whining about high strikes but the team and coaches are idiots if they aren't talking to each other and decide to start swinging at them. The victim mentality isn't going to accomplish anything.

This is stupid. Of course they will communicate with each other but a curveball in the opposite batters box at your eyes should never, ever, be swung at.

He definitely made some different ones that worked out that inning for sure. Glad those guys stepped up. If we could Dugas, Bianco, and Thompson confident and going offensively, that would be huge and make us SO much better.

Speaking of so much better, I’d like to have seen how much better that inning could have been without the 2 bullshite called 3rd strikes.

What’s with the positioning of the outfield? It seems like the RF line is always a wasteland.

Well I said high strikes, not ones in the other batters box. If you can't reach it you aren't fouling it off. The Doughty 3rd strike and others that will probably come.

Really hate bama's leadoff guy and this doubles nonsense they do. Holy crap bullpen already again.

Those outside pitches Dutton threw were somehow not in the zone. The previous ones the past half inning 5 inches off the plate were very nice though.

Ump calling strikes in the eyes and we throw low or down the pipe to all three batters. Take advantage of this shitbags zone
