Would've been fun to troll everyone who thinks we're not that good by saying we're first in the SEC, but I stand by what I've been saying all year.
I really don't give a frick about winning the SEC regular season or tournament titles. Just get a top 4 seed.

The SEC is cannibalistic. The SEC tournament is worth nothing and you have to deal with the shitty umps. Two and cue and get healthy for regional play.

Bama is likely a regional team. They have a top 20 RPI

Yep don’t care at all about conference title as long as we capture the natty.
I wouldn’t throw any of our weekend starters in Hoover

The SEC regular season title is a great accomplishment
Agree with you on the SEC tournament.
Skip was only concerned with playing 3 games to get all of his weekend starters some mound time.

Alex Milazzo: “That was one of the toughest lineups we’ve faced all season.”
Jay Johnson had similar sentiments about Alabama’s offense.
Jay Johnson: “I’m very aware we’re never out of a game.”
Leah Vann
Jay Johnson calls Alabama an “Omaha-caliber” offense and is proud of his pitching staff this weekend.
On Riley Cooper closing it out: “Riley has been in that situation so many times and after last night… we knew today was going to be his game.” #LSU
Alabama catcher was conscious when he was taken to the hospital. All we know. #LSU
Milazzo on Paul Skenes: “When he's not pitching, which y’all might not see is the goofy side of him—he's a 6-foot-8 child.”
Says he’s just a good team chemistry guy. #LSU
Alex Milazzo on his message to the pitching staff: "When you approach everything like a playoff game – guys are stepping up and they're emptying the tank. That was my message to every pitcher out there: 'Empty the tank.' Whether he had two more innings or one more inning... just empty the tank right here on this batter. Let's get him. Let's go. And I had all the confidence in the world in them." #LSU

Sure, it'd be cool to win it, but I won't cry if we finish 2nd.
Again, the goal should be a top 4 natty seed. Anything else we pick up along the way is lagniappe. (although I hope we play 3 games tops in Hoover)

It was actually an issue with the umpires microphone that caused that.

quote:100% this. That being said, every year we won the national championship, We either won the regular season conference championship, or the conference tournament championship. So there is some good mojo with picking up one of those two things.
Yep don’t care at all about conference title as long as we capture the natty

Someone posted in the club baseball thread that his grandson struck out 15 batters in their most recent game. Can we get him on the real team? At least he throws strikes.
Not his grandfather, but I do play on the team. He had 98 pitches, 71 strikes this weekend against Auburn

I'm OK with four games in Hoover, since there's no mid-week game that week, but that's enough. Ideally it's wins on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. But as soon as you drop into the loser's bracket you are better off conceding and getting ready for the Regional than burning up your staff trying to come back and win it.
