I’m not convinced OL would be better with a different OL coach.

It wouldn't.

Go watch a high school game. Pretty much throw it every down. The script has flipped, 15 years ago every HS ran every down.

All the camps, all the 7 on 7, practice all they do is pass block. Run blocking is a perishable skill, if not practiced it goes away.

Its not just an us problem watch the line play this weekend.

I would argue that its not the coaching...if you look at Hannity/Dixon film analysis, they clearly point out that, while the right side of the line was struggling all game with the twist moves being made by #40, the left side of the line was handling them with ease and good techniques.

Also, the running backs are not hitting the holes at times, when they are there, and bounce when it would be better to work the planned hole.

I appreciate the frustration but the line is doing pretty well in parts but needs to get better...especially handling pass rush stunts. And the RBs need to hit holes that are there and work to not abandon plays too early.

We were able to run for 328 vs Florida in 2021 with Brad Davis as OL coach.

And that was after being the worst rushing team in the SEC in the first 5 games of the season. Davis and TDP didn't "suddenly" get better the week leading up to the Florida game. It's because the staff changed the approach that was ineffective in the first 5 games. They inserted Jack Mashburn at TE and started running a lot more counter plays. TDP went from having the lowest ypc average in the SEC to a 1000 yard back and NFL draft pick...ALL because the staff wasn't so stubborn that they refused to change an approach that clearly wasn't working (of course, it's a bit easier to do that when you know you'll be out of a job at the end of the season)

Regardless of OL or RB or TE personnel, the LSU running game under Sloan has been terrible. Worst in the SEC. Perhaps it's time to accept that the way they are trying to run the ball isn't going to work and change course.

I may be crazy but I think I'll trust the coaches and not a guy named Carter the power.

Real question. Why was he considered such a great hire, when we got him from Arkansas? He had to have done some good, there, and maybe even before to have such hype.

Its the ranter way. They have absolutely no clue what they are talking about, but they want to feel like they do, so they find somebody who says what they are saying and latch on to them. Exact same way they shite all over someone who says the opposite. Josh Pate is a perfect example. He was great according to this board, but now he doesnt have LSU where they want, so he's now clueless to the same people.

What did Carter say that you disagree with? I hear people say stupid stuff like if he was so good, he'd be coaching in college. That's silly. I mean heck, we complain about coaches not being able to figure out what's wrong with their teams all the time. So obviously even they can't be held to that standard. I'm not saying he's amazing, but I watch quite a few guys who break down LSU film and I don't see him being bad by any means.

It wasn't "a" missed hole. It was three missed holes, in the same game, by the same back. These young backs have to realize they can't outrun everyone to the corner, like they did in high school.

The worst thing that could have ever happened was the broadcast showing a missed hole by Durham. That's all the ammo the retard brigade needed to jump into that narrative and never stop repeating it. How many times have we had threads saying the RBs missed a hole before it was pointed out?

Its the scheme. Couldn't run block with 4 NFL lineman last year.

Right. It’s the scheme with a QB that is not a threat to run. Defenses don’t respect Nuss’ feet. In this scheme there will always be an unblocked defender that is supposed to care about the QB run. But they ignore Nuss and defenses have one extra defender that’s usually unblocked to help stop the run. This offense is designed for a true dual threat. Nuss is not a dual threat.

Thank God the OL can pass block decently.

Bottom line is you are at a distinct disadvantage in modern football if your qb is no threat to run

Not being a smart arse here, I'm really not just curious.

I'm not really sure what an LSU media protege is? Does this mean he is a media member who has a well informed mentor who has helped him hone insightful analysis of game film?

No doubt his platform is popular - not just with media members. So you are a media member tzimme4? Are his videos meant to be for the media who never played the game and need help in understanding football?

OL Cant block, no discipline, trips over their own feet, that was pathetic to watch. SLU's Number 40 was getting through unblocked on almost every possession

The people who call for coach firing as soon as something doesn’t go right are absolutely the worst. When I talk to people IRL and they start saying “fire so and so…” I either change the subject or walk away because that person has no fricking clue what they’re talking about.

I doubt if he'll be eager to jump right into a position coach spot. I know I'd take at least a year to roll around naked in my money.

Told Yall. Told Yall. Told Yall.

After we lose a close game and rush for under a hundred yards, maybe, just maybe, BK9.9 will pull the plug on Sylvester.

Our OL has been trash since Kelly has been here.

It was far worse the year before he got here. We literally had three SEC-level guys on the 22 roster before recruiting and the portal, and two of them (Turner and Martinez) were really rotation/backup level.

This doesnt mean a team cant run the ball effectively though. There are plenty of teams out there with pocket passers who run the ball well, it just means their QB doesnt run the ball
