understand, just tired of the countless posts about inane aspects of the baseball program like walkup songs, visitors showers, batting gloves, where to watch the game in BFE, will I be able to buy tix at the stadium, etc.
its a damn shame more people don't think about what tigersbb wants to discuss before hitting submit on their posts/ Bunch of self centered fricking assholes.
bb what do you want to talk about today?

I went to many gymnastic meets when my daughters were younger. The skill level is outstanding. I agree they deserve more coverage.
According to the attendance numbers, gymnastics draws about as much women's basketball and softball combined.
I pull for every team wearing purple and gold. The gymnast always have a high team gpa and are very active in the community.

Softball attendance is not relevant to this discussion.
Capacity of Tiger Park doesn't break 2200 (and that includes the berm).
Compare that to the over 13000 avaliable for gymnastics, softball on average, is closer to filling up their seats than gymnastics is

Do you seriously think the SEC Network exists in Wales?

Softball does matter when I say WBB and WSB attendance combined. Also, what sport do you think is more popular among the daughters of LSU boosters: gymnastics, basketball and softball. WBB and WSB receive more media attention then gymnastics even though the gymnastic team is better than both. I am not saying they deserve more attention than men's basketball or baseball but I guarantee you it is the most popular sport among daughters of LSU fans

I received a response from the Advocate today. They were short handed on personnel, did not provide live coverage of the meet and relied upon LSU sports information for a limited report. The placement of eh story was not high priority as they were dealing with a busy evening of sports in the area.
The Advocate has a great sports department and their explanation was very plausible. Kudos to them for responding to my inquiry.

They were probably laughing at you.
While I like gymnastics, it doesn't come close to the 3 major sports in the NCAA.

Tell me which sport is more popular and your whole thread is pointless.

This thread is so fricking dumb.

Wait... you're giving up THAT easy?
Why aren't you fighting as hard... or harder... with The Advocate as you are to change the hearts and minds of your fellow Tiger sports fans?
Sure their answer was nice, but they still haven't answered your central question of why they believe baseball is more important than gymnastics. They were short handed, but they still managed to get a reporter to a meaningless baseball game over a very important gymnastics meet.
Did you ask them if they thought to hire a freelancer to cover the event? That wouldn't have cost them more than $50.
They wouldn't spend $50 on a freelancer to cover a gymnastics meet between two top ten teams? Seriously?
I used to make $75 a night just taking video at high school games for local TV. Not even reporting.
They relied on LSU's SID to write the report? You didn't call them out as lazy in your response e-mail?
They were dealing with a "busy sports evening in the area?" What could have been more important than the gymnastics meet between top ten teams?

Good Lord... you sure do go weak in the spine for the Advocate's explanation. This, after seven pages of responding to posters telling you pretty much the exact same thing... that the Advocate had more important things to cover.
You know, despite your initial post being completely out of whack perspective-wise, I actually respected you for sticking to what you believe in. But now? I'm disappointed you gave up so easily.
Here's an idea... why don't YOU ask the Advocate if they need a freelancer? Maybe YOU can do the gymnastics write-up for them when they don't have a reporter. That way you can be part of the solution here. Just a thought.

How hard do you think the people at the advocate laughed at this email? Was it a "yall come over here and check this out" or was it a "I'm forwarding this to everyone for a good laugh..."?

Who is your favorite gymnast on the Men's team?

Why don't you tell us who has the biggest bat on the baseball team.
Meanwhile I will enjoy watching Jessie and Rheagan and the rest.

You feel like an arse now?
No, just glad I actually follow sports for the nuances of the game.
I do wonder what those who concern themselves with walkup songs, visitors showers, batting gloves, sixth starting pitcher for that Wednesday game vs Centenary ( in December) the incessant fire Javi comments, and 118 days until opening pitch countdowners feel like?

I would bet its gymnastics. Of course you would not know it since most fans are kids and young parents who are too busy with jobs and getting their kids to practice and events. They don't have time to post endless inane comments like the retired or semi retired baseball fans.

So your true agenda comes to light, you just wanted to bitch about baseball threads. Here's a hint that will serve you well, if YOU are not interested in the topic, DON'T read it. Just scroll right past it...
Feel free to post threads on the girls leotard colors or the brand of chalk they use or DD's eyeshadow. It is a message board after all. And people that are interested will click on it and comment. And trolls will come on and make snide comments. That's how TD works.
I support all LSU programs and don't belittle one over the other. Gymnastics is a fun sport to watch, so is baseball. As to all the negative comments you've received, re-read your OP and see that you deserve them for trolling LSU.
