And I’m sure if he gets the final out of the inning you’d be here saying why didn’t we bring him out for the 4th. Ulloa was coming in at some point he just didn’t have it today. We don’t win the game the other night without him being tough as nails.

I'm don't think I'll understand how a baseball coach would decide before the game how many innings he will let his staring pitchers go. When your starter is pitching well, why pull him out with two away and no one one just because you decided before the game you'd give the starter one trip through the opposing lineup. Coach Johnson lost this game. This one is one him.

Those to whom you refer can make all decisions for today rather than drawing the line somewhwe in preparation for more important future games for the teams they coach.

You’re surprised coaches go in with a gameplan and don’t just YoLO it?

What amazes me is that people think he would have been pulled if this is a NCAA Tournament game.

Exactly. This game meant nothing other than bragging rights

Or the fact that it was once through the lineup for Ack. Pretty standard for a reliever being asked to stretch.

I agree we it’s both sides. Yes he could have left him in for one more batter but the fact he pulled him doesn’t really affect me either because I understand why. Some of you don’t know how to enjoy life. This team has gelled and is playing the way they were expected to all year. Sit back and enjoy the ride for a change.

Watching game today and FIL was fussing about Ack being pulled I asked him if he wanted Ack’s arm to fall off. Damn we have some important games next weekend.

So why the frick did it matter if we won last night or not. You play to win every game

There should never be a predetermined pitch count. You should have an idea, but nothing set in stone. I absolutely hate that call. Ack was f’in dealing

Nobody wants a guys arm to fall off. I’m also a positive guy who knows the Tigers can get to Omaha. Certainly don’t want to take unnecessary risks with how important next week is.

That said this particular SECT champ sure would have been a nice fallback as something lasting for this year just in case things don’t quite work out like we want.

And I gotta say if we’re approaching every season as CWS or bust and not treating any other championship as necessary then that not only takes a lot of the fun out of it but our trophy case will just get a lot lighter.

It’s amazing people don’t think a 20 something year old kid could throw 5-10 more pitches to get an out with 6+ days rest ahead of him.

What was so important about that out? I think there was a man on first with two outs. That is a good situation for the defense. The reason that out became important is because the reliever put another guy on base and then gave up the bomb. He might have done worse than that if he started the next inning. How was CJJ to know?

And remember, CJJ’s first priority was NOT winning this game.

The pressure now is on Tennessee they most likely will be the number one overall seed and that hasn’t bold well nor has winning the sec tournament for teams ga dang you people!!

It was actually 2 outs and nobody on. Then base hit, walk, homer.

Importance of SECt <<<< Regionals

We want our guys fresh as possible. We absolutely could’ve blown our load and won. Tbh, I thought the pitchers gave us a chance to win, even with limited pitch counts. Hats off to UT’s staff keeping us in check almost the entire game.

The guy could have handled one more out no problem. One more batter wouldn’t have caused his arm to “fall” off. But, I understand stand Jay’s thinking too. I think this loss can only help us going into the postseason. This team can beat anyone in the country if they play to their abilities.

Who says when Ulloa came in the next inning that they wouldn't have scored three runs anyway

I am going off topic but the problem was not the pitchers. Why for 3 plus innings we could not hit an inexperienced softy lefty with a 88 mph fastball. Had we hit him nobody would be talking about Ack pulled to early. We will have trouble in regional play if we cannot hit mid major pitching. With the limits on scholarships every mid major in the tournament will have a great starter
