The firing coincided with the NOA. It really is that simple.

Idiot or not. Woodward was not a Wade guy. Wade was going to get fired eventually. The NOAs gave Woodward an easy out.

Oh well.

I hope Woodward bucks the geriatric trend with his next hire.

Not sure where all the Woodward was not a Wade guy is from but I’m guessing if you were the AD and in taking the job you were told that your Basketball coach is under investigations by the fbi and the ncaa, you wouldn’t be a Wade guy either. He gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited til the sanctions came out. That’s saying something.

What’s funny about that?

The biggest things they have are mousse Cisse who we offered to pay and he went elsewhere and this fiancé extortion. The players that she would know about would not have anything to do with LSU.

Why would the NCAA hammer LSU in the era of NIL for a player that didn’t end up with us and penalties regarding Wade at VCU?

Wade sure gets a big show cause. Otherwise

Sure we may get some token penalties for Cisse (which is ridiculous in the first place) but the biggest comp to this is Mississippi state and cam newton they lost a few scholarships and no bowl ban.

Correct. Both Woodward and Tate inherited the problem.

Wadites are just trying to rationalize things in an irrational manner.

He refused to extend one of the most successful coaches in the SEC over the last several years and the most sustained success we’ve had since the late 80s early 90s

I think that’s proof

I don’t think you can use Miss State as a comparison. Was Dan Mullen even aware?

Proof to wait until the NCAA came out with their allegations. Don’t they only have 4 years from the start? It was closing in on 4.

I used to love Culotta and thought it was a mistake when guaranty let him go, however I now see that’s not the case. His show hasn’t gained nearly the traction I thought it would and all he does now is stir the pot and give these off the wall, uneducated sports takes. He used to be better
He is without a doubt, the best of all the local guys. Hands down.

Woodward refused to extend him also because he knew Wade was going nowhere while under the NCAA microscope. We talked about it on this board the last couple of years when the subject came up about a blue blood stealing Wade. No one was going to steal Wade from LSU while under NCAA investigation so Woodward was smart not to extend or increase his contract.

Hasn’t Jordy been wrong about nearly everything? O was his guy. Napier was his guy. He said nobody would ever name the court after Dale Brown. He said nothing would come of the Wade investigation. Dude has been wrong at every turn.

"...doing the right thing"!

Returning a dead body found in the car that you stole.

Not sure which one is more interesting here...
OP's acceptance of the corrupted logic vs the root cause corruption of WW

Inverse relationship, faith in humanity and these WW posts, proven again

IMO this is starting to look like a setup by the NCAA and Woodward using the media to stir up a controversy at a critical time to give the appearance of cause so Woodward can fire Wade and bring in his guy.

My thoughts exactly!

I dont know and I don’t care.

Punishing a school for offering to pay a kid who signed somewhere else and the final school gets nothing is absolutely absurd. Whether it’s us or Mississippi state.

If you can point to a school that got “hammered” in a similar situation I’m all ears

The other Level 1 allegation is concerning running into Christian Watford and his mom at a restaurant in Birmingham. A bama fan took a picture of Christian (Trendon's brother) and his mom visiting with Wade and Bill Armstrong in the restaurant and sent the picture to the NCAA and the NCAA made that into a Level 1 violation somehow.

Woodward could just sit on his hands and let it play out. If it came back really bad, fire him and get your guy.
If it was a slap on the wrist, extend him and move on.

He played it smart, knowing nothing would happen until the NCAA released the findings.
