My goodness. How do you fix this if he’s brain dead from the line of scrimmage? I see some saying move him to LB. You think he can diagnose a run play????

Said that last night he runs right to the pile. I think he could be used in a fullback type role for shortage yardage or a lead blocker but that's about it.

Hope he can improve his vision issues, he's still relatively inexperienced.Too much physical talent to give up on him just yet

He doesn’t run behind his pads, runs too high, and doesn’t trust his instincts at this point. He’s an impatient runner at this point. Dude is 230 lbs and falls over as soon as he’s touched.

Sucks because I was looking forward to him wrecking shop this season.

Not fully defending him, but our running scheme does not fit hit his style at all.
It takes him a while to rev up, and you can't give him the ball deep in the backfield. It's correct that he does not have good vision, but pitch-outs seem to work best for him, where he can build up a good head of steam before contact.

He’s probably being told which hole to hit…..follow his blockers

He really didn’t play much this year. But I do agree he is a liability for the most part so far. He’s so talented that if he ever figures it out, he could be so so good. I think it’s worth giving him some snaps in every game but I wouldn’t do it in critical situations.

Tbh I don't think he is talented. I think he is very slow. The only thing he has going for him is size, but even then he almost always goes down on immediate contact.

There really isn't anything I can say he does well. He needs to cut weight, improve vision, avoid contact, become shiftier, gain speed, everything really.

He’s a terrible back for a zone blocking scheme

We run gap scheme plays with him all the time and he still can’t see the hole

I think I would still rather see Emery lined up back there, even with the torn ACL.

He has really poor vision. Otherwise, he’s super talented.

Remember Noah Cain, this was Kelly’s guy. He was about the same as Jackson, straight ahead with limited elusiveness. Cain was a bit more slippery going into the line but mostly the same.

It’s not bad to have a back focused on the hard yards but Jackson has had some lanes that he ignored. Maybe his feet are not quick and his acceleration isn’t either. He may know, in this picture, that it would be 3-4 yards regardless.

Both he and Williams have great attitudes and pass protect skills but neither is going to be that back capable of making guys miss or slashing towards daylight

I really wish they would give me a toss sweep or a stretch play or something. Get him outside. His inside vision sucks.

Durham is a freshman and is light years better than Jackson right now. At some point you gotta stop it with the “he’s young” excuse. You either got it or you don’t and unfortunately it’s looking like Jackson doesn’t have it whereas Durham does.

He should be moved to linebacker

So he can't figure out what hole to hit on offense so you want to move him to linebacker where he has to diagnose much more.

Not every big running back can play lb. You have to have the mindset.
