Logan isn’t playing DT

In a 4-3 the 4 would be Logan, Ika, shelvin and Farrell

Another person who has no clue what a 4 man front looks like
The combination above would combine for about 3 total sacks all year

If you watched any DL this year you would’ve saw that Farrell was the most athletic DL, he can get 7-8 sacks next year easily

In 2007 we started Tyson Jackson, Dorsey, RJF and Kirsten Pitman. They were all 300 pounds other than pitman who was like 260

Pittman was a converted LB, I don’t feel like looking but he wasn’t 300lbs or anywhere close

Farrell has some bad weight in his midsection, if he can get down to about 275 he’d make a great two way DE.

I think Logan is a DT

Roy is a DE

Ali Gaye is a DE

Hopefully Thomas comes back. DE

Brooks is a lot stronger than people think he is for his size, plus you get the speed.

I think Bo Pelini has all the talent he needs next year to wreck shite against anyone LSU plays next year, no matter what scheme or personnel he chooses.

In O and Bo I trust.

That was against way different offenses than today

Go look at Ohio state’s DL or Clemson’s DL and you will see you need to more athletic at the DE spot than Logan

Agreed, Bo will have simular defensive schemes to defended the spread like Clemson and Auburn.

Bo will blitz big time.

Those are some serious defensive tackles. Would love to see a beef line of Shelvin, Ika, Guillory, and Logan against predominantly run teams. That would be 1,400 pounds of pain.

You have to have DE with speed and agility in a 4-3. 300lb DE's are not able to do it. Need some Cam Jordan's.

how about some of those guys move to OL? DL's usually move pretty well and have good feet to make the move to the other side of the ball. Out of this class, Eric Taylor, (and of course CamRon Jackson). Maybe Nelson Jenkins (sophomore) also with all the depth that is coming in it might be hard for him to get PT on the DL. Ray Parker if he would gain the weight and get with the program there, but it may be to late for that now. Maybe in a couple years some of those guys will be great DL's and this post will be dumb, but for right now it looks like they should be considered for OL's

this post especially applies if we get Burch or McKinnley Jackson.

Remember the Ravens that had Saragusa and Adams, I believe. No one could run on them at all

Ole Miss would run for even more yards than they did against us this season

How much spread did Debo play against? I'll answer he played almost exclusively against running teams.

Ding Ding Ding!!! We have a winner

Uhhh....clf1234, are you the new Def Coordinator? Or is it Pelini, or maybe you are Pelini?

Love your depth chart, especially where you put Ojulari as 2nd string def end then also back up LB if and when needed there to get more pressure. However, IKA is #2 at 1DT over Guillory.

For Def Line, if Burch does not come I say Roy at DE and Gaye at the other over Anthony. Or, to wear out one side of the OL I would rotate Ojulari and Webb all game long as they might be the best 2 rushing specialists on our team for 2020. We have actually a solid 3 deep DL and good 2 deep at LB, and secondary is cold blooded. We should rush the DL hard all game long going 100% each series, then bring in the second string the next series, then first string, then 3rd line, then first, etc... always fresh bodies and a lot of playing time will produce results and a happy team. There is no way the OL will last

if Okulari and Webb play DE in this 4-3 defense , they should play it in a more standing position, like a OLB in a 3-4, where they can at times drop back into coverage, while one of the LB's blitz, just to keep the offenses guessing. If we play it like that then a 4-3 defense can work against modern spread offenses.
