So did Chaisson and he isn't a 4-3 guy.

definitely see Flott rotating in at S as well.

Brooks is closer to a DE than a LB

Anthony won't start. Got to get Brooks in there

Brooks will not be a DE in this defense

Man, if only Anthony, Thornton, Moore, Little, Cherry all develop into reliable Pass rushers, this can be a sneaky good defense next year

I agree and I think they are gonna be hard to prepare against next year because of the transition back to a 4-3. I think it’ll be a slow transition where they’ll be very multiple next year. They can afford to be with the versatility at every level.

DT - Shelvin
DT - Ika/Guillory
WDE Ferrell

Look at our schedule and tell me how many teams are going to be running the ball...

Kiffen, Leach, Saban, Fisher, Mullen, and Herman gonna lob that ball right over dem big boys heads...

The people who keep putting out this line up except in goal line situations are idiots

Of course, LSU won’t be in base a lot due to the increase in spread offenses, but here’s a general look of how I see it, with some interesting position changes.

This is good work, but I can see some 3-4 (or more likely 3-3) looks, because we still have Shelvin and Ika - those are legit NTs and it allows Pelini to do some interesting things on third and long.

It will depend on which 11 players give us the best chance to win the down and on the particular offensive threats presented.

However, now that I look at your projected depth chart, it is clear as day we've been recruiting towards a 4-3 and away from a 3-4 for at least 2 cycles now (Ika notwithstanding).

you gonna throw at Stingley/flott/Hampton/Vincient?? that zone read will be run all day everyday against us and it will get stopped most of the time...

those two big boys in the middle would take up at least 3 Olineman minimum...

id like to see what two nose guards like Shelvin and Ika would do in the middle.. A SDE like Burch on one side and a pass rusher like Webb or Ojulari on the other side..

that is a strong middle with a big man like Damone Clark in the middle behind them, with some speed on the outside..

O said Pelini could still run the 3-4

If we do go 4-3 though there’s no way Baskerville is starting over brooks at OLB

lol...I’m not Pelini but I know a guy who knows a guy that once crossed paths with the mother in law of the dude’s first cousins sister in law at the local grocery...

Hope we get Burch as our SDE so we can punish Bama QBs for years!

We were 51st in the NCAA in passing yds allowed with guys better than that. FWIW I am extremely impressed with Stingley and Hampton and I expect to see similar performance with Ricks but I am not putting Flott and Ward in their company... yet.

The trend in modern CFB is to put leaner and faster guys on the field because the modern offense is going to make you defend every inch of the field. This certainly has been the formula for beating Bama.

Going back to battleship defense in a cruise missile era is a step backwards IMHO.
