39% of our offensive plays have gone for 0 or negative yards the last 3 games.

Per T-Bob on Snaps. Not great, Bob.

I have been saying this. So many wasted downs and it is often the same plays. Predictable play calling and not much creativity.

The weird thing is this team is surprisingly good on 3rd down

Also only averaging 3.3 air yards per completion.

Of course that’s obviously only measuring vertical yards past the LOS. If you took into account how far Nuss retreats backwards and/or how far he throws it horizontally every play, we may actually lead the country in air yards per attempt.

No shite. Our 3rd down conversion % Saturday—especially given almost all of them were 3rd and longs—was just one of the many extremely unusual quirks of that game’s box score.

Durham and Williams rushed for 160 yards.

Maybe we should start running our 3rd down plays on 1st down

2024 LSU is actually elite on third down, which is shocking because I would assume most of our third downs are third and longs.

#8 in the country overall

#7 if you only look at vs DI competition

Well running right up the gut on 2nd and 3rd down will do that

I have nothing to compare it to but that sounds like almost an unrealistic stat with how bad it is.

Playing Durham the whole game would cut that in half. Plus add to explosive plays. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills during game. LOL

Our 2nd down plays usually involve running into a wall up the middle or some ineffective pass at or behind the LOS.

We need more slants over the middle for Anderson, Thomas and Lacy to use their speed to get more yards after the catch. And we need to involve CJ Daniels in the passing game more as well. We need to chill with all the long attempts to Hilton. Hopefully he'll shake off the rust at some point and make a big catch, but we've forced it to him and he hasn't been ready. Also, can he catch anything but a bomb? Maybe try that.

It does, but it’s true. TBob was listing a bunch of bad stats, and I couldn’t remember them all, but that was either 122nd in the country or our sack rate per drop back ranks 122nd over the last 3 games. Or both.

Which may be even more amazing considering we drop back 40+ times every single game and went into the A&M game only having given up 2 sacks all season, I think. I know it went from 6 to 13 Saturday. Just wild ineptitude the past 3 games. Almost impressive how bad they’ve been.

That's because all of a sudden the LSU is getting physically dominated in the trenches.
