Modern college football makes the play of safeties super important. They need to be able to fit in the run and cover WRs/TEs. Deal with all the RPO stuff one play and help over the top the next. Our weakest position currently is safety. We are playing really young guys at that position for a reason.

conclusion - a 3 star defense well coached and experienced can beat a 4-5 star defense poorly coached.

but if you want to be on top, it's better to have 4-5 stars well coached.

this... but players come and go. Highly regarded guys, you're lucky to get 3 years out of. Having the right coaching in place is what separates a good year from a good program

Take a look at the second half scoring of every game after USC.

Nichols St. 7
SC. 9
UCLA. 0
USA 7

I get so tired of all the whining and bitching. We have already seen that they have stepped up the defensive recruiting. But this defense has not only gotten better but they make the halftime adjustments needed. So I don’t care about the QB ratings. I care about results. That’s a pretty strong 2nd half of every game. Hopefully that continues and they can get off to a quicker start.

Sorry but that's bullshite, and I give u an easy example. Kenny Guillot coached both in high school an college. I don't think in his 50 years or so coaching did he ever not have a offense that was top 10 in college (He was OC) or a high school team that didn't make the playoffs when he was HC.

I remember him telling me is the problem with most coaches is they have a system and try to fit players into it. When you really have to look at what you have in players and run a system that works best for that.

I think Saban eventually adopted the Kenny approach too. (They were friends)

We continue to do the exact opposite of that

I’ve heard there is video evidence to back your claims

Stars matter, but player development matters just as much

Football IQ matters as much as physical traits for a lot of players who constantly out of position no matter how well they’ve been coached. He also said that over 1/2 and I believe that stat is accurate.

Good coaching with average talent will outperform great talent with meh coaching.

As long as they are not transfers and you have them in your system for a few years. Why Matt House was really good at UK and not here.
Since the gutting in 2021, LSU simply has not caught up

Agree except SC as their QB injury was a massive loss for them.

USA was jumped on and fell behind, which made them 1 dimensional. Coach Kelly talked about that some today in his press conference.
