Are you referring to South Carolina or LSU?

After the first game against Arky there were people saying they were a middle of the pack SEC team.

I think we lost #3-5 pitchers as Floyd has really been #2.

Then Edwards's injury put the nail in the coffin. LSU wins the SEC Regular season going away with him and avoiding those late game meltdowns without a closer.

I agree that one loss had a major impact. He was closing out Floyd’s game early in the conference schedule. LSU does not lose Game 2 against Auburn and Miss St with him still out there. Add Shores and they likely win the Game 3s against Miss St and Georgia. Maybe they have a bad outing in there somewhere and they only win 3 of the 4, but they are 22-7 or 23-6 with those 2.

Curious, I forgot: how far out of first place did this team finish? Where does it stand in the country? The team that finished ahead of LSU,...who beat them 2 out of 3 ? Good Lord.

2 months ago, anyone who pointed out that this team had issues was mobbed.
Two months ago this team was 19-2. Congrats on knowing about multiple injuries, blown leads, slumps, and pitchers melting down ahead of time.

Or just being contrarian and getting lucky.

I’m sure one of those is much more likely than the other, not quite sure which one though.

We finished a half game back and we played one less game.

And yeas we could have won it, but also, neither Florida nor Arkansas won it outright. I think They had a tie breaker.

And we beat Arkansas 2/3 games. Including 2 games where Skenes did not pitch.

So are we really that much better or worse because we couldn’t play SCar a third game? The fans who have been waiting for this I told you so moment can frick off.

Maybe so, I just feel Floyd has been so up and down.

Honestly look at what the team accomplished with the injuries to major players in the pitching staff. Losing Taylor was a huge blow and then to lose the two best bullpen pitchers we had in Shores and Edwards hurt as well. And this team still nearly won the SEC. Any other team would have lost their season with those injuries. But we had a lot of depth and were still in good position to win.
