They put together one hell of a tough OOC schedule
that's an understatement
series at Stanford
series at Vandy
midweek game at Tennessee
tournament with 2x against Oregon State, and one game each against Indiana and UNLV
midweek against us this week
They haven't played a home game yet either, which is a huge boost for their RPI, and they won't until next weekend

D1 baseball is the only poll that matters since it’s gets under the mountain gump’s skin so bad.

Its also interesting from an NIL perspective that smaller schools could make the investment to be very competitive in college baseball with relatively small contribution.
those schools are already losing a ton of money on baseball every year. They don't have the funds, even if they are much smaller in scale than football/basketball, to pay guys NIL money. There is no pool of money at all to be used on a sport that is already a huge drain on their ADs

NIL isn’t funded by any schools AD. It’s a separate entity than the AD. Bayou Traditions is funded by a tiered donation system and TAF also helps fundraise for them

Wildly different opinions about about coastal Carolina.

If there are 2 or 3 donors that decide they want their baseball team to be well funded, then none of what you said matters.

All polls updated. Tennessee #1, LSU #2 headed into SEC opening weekend in all except the D1 poll which has us #1

There isn't a group of boosters for baseball at small schools to pay baseball players. NIL isn't much of a thing in baseball outside a small group of schools with fans who care enough.

How is Mizzou THAT BAD?

Is Georgia really a top 5 baseball team? I haven’t watched them to have an idea.

Is the SEC no longer the best football conference that has instead transformed into the best baseball conference?

Been the best baseball conference for a long time now.

That’s not an absolute. CBB is growing more and more every year, especially with the tv contracts and the new Juco rules. It’s more attractive now more than ever for top tier high school guys to go the college route which in turn puts more players at the college level which also evens the playing field more and more. That puts more good players at some mid majors or teams who wouldn’t normally care about baseball to finally start caring because they are finding success. All it takes is one ex mlb player or business man to throw some money at their Alma mater to ignite something.

That has more to do with the shortened draft than NIL

Xavier is somehow #2 in RPI with a 7-9 record so Tuesday's game should help ours (70th lol) with a win.
Unfortunately, that’s not how the RPI works. It will make LSU’s quad record look better, but it won’t necessarily help their RPI. Xavier is #2 because 75% of the weight is on schedule strength components. Their 7-9 record gets 50% weight when calculating LSU’s RPI and their opponents record only 25%. That won’t help the way you think playing #2 would.

and those guys you speak of aren't going to small programs, and those small programs don't have TV deals like the SEC does. Elite prospects are going to big programs to cash in, not mid majors. and the best mid major prospects are transferring to major programs every year to cash in. We have several on our team, NIL and the portal was the worst thing ever to happen to mid major programs
