Oh look it’s another O defender making excuses for him before the season even starts.

You’re right.

7-5 will get his boss fired though.

What we saw from Ensminger as interim OC was nothing like what we saw from Miles...and that was even using his playbook.

So you want to give Ensminger credit for ‘16’s offense? Does he get credit for 10pts against Florida and 0 against Bama?

Fans are basically in a Win/Win IMO. We have a fantastic season with this schedule and people will quickly jump on the bandwagon with momentum carrying through what should be a stellar 2019 recruiting class. If O can’t get the job done, we cut our losses and move on to hopefully a bright future with a different coach at the helm.

Incorrect. Things only get dicey at 5 wins. 6+ and O is here another season. And 8-9 win seasons is what a large portion of the fan base is content with.

I’m not sure why he even has a seat for it to be hot.

I don’t think there’s a way in hell that Alleva fires him. Joe knows his job is 100% dependent on O.

You are probably right. They are conjoined twins. One heartbeat.

Gonna be a huge season and will likely determine LSU’s direction for the next 5 years when you factor in the ‘19 Louisiana recruiting class.

That 19' class is going to take a nice jump on Wednesday.

It will. With that said it looks like State is going to land John Emery.

Can’t believe LSU is at a point where we could lose a top 50 player, #2 RB in the country to State. Not to mention the kid is less than an hour from BR.

Hopefully O can keep the class together if the season goes as Vegas is predicting.

Hires Steve Ensminger as his play-caller, who runs a system similar to how the Tigers looked during the Miles era.

So an RPO based spread system involving heavy play action and tight end involvement is similar to toss left/right 3 times followd by a punt?

There is a lot at play with Emery. Early stages he didn't want to play with another high profile back which Davis is and Cain would be. He also was hinting about wanting to go to an OOS school. Now we have dad and girlfriend in MS working against us and promises of being the next Saquan.

Apparently Emery wants to see exotic culture and no where is better than Starkville.

Our schedule this year is the norm, not the exception.

Our schedule last year was the exception. This tough schedule excuse is just that, an excuse.

Where did I give Ensminger credit? I didn’t give an opinion on how well he did as a play caller. Just that it was very different from Miles’ offense.

He buys time with a top 5 recruiting class, beats the teams they are favored to win and ends in the top three in the SEC West. If they are 2nd in SEC West, you can put the hot seat talk on hold. Sabotage tigers want us to fail in recruiting and lose games so he will get fired.

I don’t know why but I have a feeling that we will be on one side of the spectrum or the other this year. It’s just my opinion but I see us either being prepared and great winning 10+ or being a 5-6 win team.

Half the team would have to go down with a season ending injury in fall camp for this team to only win 6 games. Regardless of opinion of the coaching staff, we will at very minimum duplicate last year’s win total.

Maybe. But much of the 2019 recruiting class will/should be in place by mid-Dec. If LSU is gearing up for the Texas Bowl after a 7-5 season and the recruiting haul in the early signing period doesn't come through as expected, then there will be big time cries to can both Alleva and O.

I would say that 6 wins he's still here only due to the cost of firing him before the 2019 season concludes. 8 wins will buy contentment from a minority of fans and 9 would allow a lot of fans to stomach the season, but not necessarily be satisfied.
