Miami Dolphins' star wide receiver Jarvis Landry is under investigation for battery.

The alleged incident took place in a Fort Lauderdale apartment earlier this year, multiple sources say. It involves Landry's girlfriend.

She has not been cooperating with authorities, sources say.

After not deciding to drop the case, the Fort Lauderdale police department forwarded it to the Broward County State Attorney's Office.

No decision is expected this week on possible charges.

Landry has an open paternity court case with his girlfriend in Broward.

"The parties are involved in what has been a very civil family court case," her attorney said. "Beyond that, we have nothing to add."

Big-bodied man should know he'll get a flag if he uses his hands to get separation.

DAMMIT, Jarvis.

Do not take that "Juice" moniker to the fullest extent!

That would be great except the NFL doesn't care. They will open their own investigation. Reference the Ezekiel Elliot case with Dallas. The police and DA chose not to go forward with a domestic abuse case due to lack of evidence and the NFL refuses to close the case.

Shows no actual violence, at least as I understand it. Haven't seen it.

public perception

Meh. This isn't a situation where she got knocked unconscious in an elevator and didn't want to pursue it because the man is her livelihood.

This is a situation with scant support of evidence of any wrongdoing. That isn't likely to change without her cooperation. More likely, they had a public, vocal disagreement. Busybodies intervened and took some (nonprobative) video and called the cops. The cops arrived, took some statements and concluded nothing.

The team became aware of it and did an internal investigation. Now, the Broward DA's office is going to pursue it further.

At least he isn't on the eve of draft day or a renegotiation, so perhaps this won't cost him actual money.

He's in a contract year.

And I don't think Goodell cares if there is no case or evidence of guilt. He is itching for opportunities to seem tough on domestic violence.

This is more than just battery. This is a domestic dispute and it's a MUCH bigger deal in today's NFL.
