auburn 2001,
Yeah, the entire stadium was passed out asleep prior to the opening onside kick. What a quiet game outside of the snoring.

Night games in TS, we just can’t bring it.

Last time we won in Tiger Stadium it was a night game
The first time we beat Bama in TS in ~30 years was a day game (2000). TYFYS Jumbotron.

I swear if the refs didn’t overturn and make the right call on the recovery, there would have been a riot in TS. That was a very tense moment and everyone was going crazy, entire stadium, Saban, everyone.

Let that Bama sideline bake in the sun just a little bit.

No need to psyche ourselves out yet again. Play it at 2:30.

I remember playing Bama in 2010. It was a 2:30pm game. Unreal weather, sun set behind the stadium and the cool air felt incredible. It went from sunny, to dusk, to night, all in one game. Got the dub and was home by 7pm to relax.

I agree that 2:30 after DST ends does not bother me, but you are misremembering the 2010 game. The game was played during DST. It was on November 6th. DST ended on November 7th.

I hate to be the stickler, but I vividly remember that Peterson reverse, and the memory in my head was definitely one during the day time. The sun was behind the stands, but it was not night time. So, I had to look it up. Maybe the very end was in the dark, but not the big plays we all remember.

I didn't mind having the rest of the evening to do whatever I wanted the past 2 weeks. 11am sucks, but 2:30p after the time change ain't bad. I'll take whatever we need to break the streak from the past 3 years.

So now we prefer day games? Our fan base changes its mind daily.

I am not saying there can’t be good energy at night. I am just saying a 2:30pm start is still good for a lot of reasons.

I came here to say the same thing, so I’ll just comment in your post.

This is the BEST time for this game. If it were in September, no. But, November 7? Absolutely. For all the reasons you said.

Excellent post. The SEC did us a favor. No one is leaving early to beat the traffic, the crowd won’t be as worn out, and it gets dark much earlier. Pretty much the whole second half will be in the dark or getting close to it.

Perfect timing.
