People are there to be ENTERTAINED. Like it or not, the tv timeouts are so excessive. So much damn dead time these days attending games. The band is sub par and athletes these days don’t get rocked up to the band like back in the day
correct, it's entertainment -- for the 100,000 fans in the stands. Not the 85 players.

If players need music in the middle of a game to get pumped up, I'd argue they shouldn't be playing at an elite football school.

Am I the only one that doesn't give a shite about this? I didn't even notice he was there until I saw people sky screaming about it on here.

I missed the Gambling game but was at the Arkansas game and was prepared to be pissed by the DJ that I heard about for two weeks on here. I actually didn't even notice him. It sounded about the same as the crap they've been piping in for years.

Now,the ear piercingly shrill, on-field MC sucked even more than I anticipated. Somebody in the AD department has to be fricking her, for her to have made it past the first game.

A lot of people in the stands actually don’t care and barely notice him. Only the old guys on social media bitching. It entertains a ton of people during all of the excessive TV timeouts. I prefer it over all of the ads that use to run over the PA.

Why can’t it benefit both? You act like music isn’t played on a practice field or a weight room.

Disagree with this from one point. They DJ can’t even make it a dance party. If you are playing music and can’t even get the student section up & excited, you suck. 1998 DMX, AC/DC back in black, etc is weak.
The super dome plays stand up & get crunk 1,000 times a game but at least the fans get up and make noise.
FTR, I wish the band would just play more. Crowd reacts to them every time.

NOBODY WANTS THIS! WE WANT AN AUTHENTIC TIGER STADIUM

I disagree. I just want fans filling in the seats and getting making noise for the Tigers to give them an advantage.

PEOPLE WHO LOVE TIGER STADIUM WILL STOP SHOWING UP AND BUYING SEASON TICKETS!

If people are going to stop buying season tickets due to a DJ then that is friggin stupid. I would never stop buying my season tickets.

I hope I live to see the day when rap and shitty dj’s pass into history. That will be a great day for America. This country was at it’s zenith during the days of classic rock and roll. It’s no coincidence that it started going down the shitter when rap came on the scene.

As far as I’m concerned the band can leave after pregame. You can’t hear them anymore anyway. Blast in the hype from the speakers and put more student where the band was.

I’m in my 50’s. I remember how awfully boring it was on TV games when the announcer kept paging Doctors, and advertising. I remembered wishing Simone just hung a huge arse speaker over the South Endzone and blasted AC/DC or GNR.

Now it’s finally happened and people bitch about not hearing the swinging hits of Disney or whatever. I was there the whole game and only heard about half of the first downs and pregame. In fact the piped in band music in the 2Q was louder than the band.

But I’ve always low key hated band music. So there’s that. As far as the DJ, I’m meh.

The seatbacks are a far bigger travesty than the DJ now that the annoying arse emcee has been toned down.

You guys make me like the DJ. The way y’all cry so much about it, when he does a pretty good job, makes me laugh at all of y’all screaming, “turn down the dj, I want to hear the band play “Take on Me.”

The DJ basically only did the DJ thing during media timeouts and it wasn’t even the entire time. The band still played plenty throughout the game. I don’t understand the amount of people crying about this shite

I get tradition, but LED lights and piped music are dope. Time to get with the times, golden oldies.

A few years ago a mid-sixties woman stopped by our tailgate to ask what the last song I played was. I said “My People” by Webbie. She goes “I loved it. Where can I download it?”

All you old baws need to take note.
