Amazing how people forget how brilliant Cowan was all year because he had a few tough games at the end of the season where we called his number 1 or 2 times every weekend. Then came back and threw a gem against Arky in a win or go home game when we had to have it. He was First Team All SEC.

Evans is your Friday night guy and only way he isn't is if Schmidt takes the same leap Kade did which will be a great problem to have. Remember these are teenagers getting their feet wet in the SEC for the first time.

Pump the brakes bud.

Yep you said it. He had struggles in the back half of the year this year. If he is in a starting role and has a stretch like that then we lose a lot of games.

He needs to be more consistent all year if he is counted on as a Senior starter.

Noone said he did not have good outings. He also had good outings at the school in North Carolina. He had a stretch where he struggled, several times the strike zone was squeezed on him but he has to be able to adjust.

I like that batting order. Could see getting double digit home runs out of every spot other than Stanfield's.

What an odd thing to say.

We just signed 3rd baseman transfer Trent Caraway. One of Oregon State’s best hitters.

Updated to include Caraway.

Side note: He was nowhere near OSU’s best hitter this year, but he’s a real good addition.

Edited lineup to add Caraway. Not sure who bats second but this gives nice L-R balance.

Omaha bracket finals. It was win or go home for Arky, but not us.

However it was a very important game to set us up for the championship series. If he didn’t perform then we’d have thrown Kade and/or Eyanson in the true win or go home against Arky the next day and would have not been set up well vs Coastal.

Cowan didn’t pitch in the championship series but his stellar performance against Arky is just as important as Kade and Anthony’s were in the final series.

We don’t win the national championship without Zach Cowan.

Evans and Cowan have to grow, be better, more consistent and go longer than they did this year.

Evans went 6 innings twice this past year as a freshman which is impressive

Cowan has pitched an absolute ton over the last 3 years (over 200 innings), no idea why you're worried about him. He also threw 5.1 IP, 1 ER in the CWS against Arkansas in case you missed it.

I'd bet on Reaves at 2nd and Pearson at first. Simpson and Dardar will be depth guys.
Big stats from smaller schools i.e. High Point don't usually carry over. With the exception of Danny which was a highly regarded draft prospect coming in.

Yorke and Caraway give me much more comfort then Simpson from a power standpoint

Dardar will be in the lineup. Simpson if he can hit at this level will be in the lineup

LSU Didn't have a win or go home game against Arkansas. They had a win or go back to the hotel and do it all over again tomorrow game.
