There hasn't been a Stingley level CB talent coming out of high school since Stingley lol. That said, both Pickett and Phillips are absolute studs. Both have a legit, realistic chance to start week 1.
True they said straight outta high school in bowl prep of 2018 he was challenging Burrow and those WRs every day

Fact, not rumor, is BK will frick it up

Anybody who questions if having Perkins on a college football roster is a good or bad thing should never be taken seriously again.
People said the same about Marcel Brooks. Where is he and how has he done since leaving? They are the same player. A safety/undersized LB that is only really good at rushing the passer. When athletic talent is far ahead of size and intelligence. Athletic talent isn't enough. See Chris Hilton.

could have used him to stop Milroe and Reed
What makes you think he would have stopped either one of them? He wasn't exactly a play making machine before his injury......

Unless there's an influx of talent...
* I think the OL will be significantly worse, probably a liability.
* I think the WRs will be a little bit worse, and they were barely average this year.
* That defensive backfield is still going to be a problem.
* That interior Defensive Line is still going to be a problem.
Who will be the QB?

Atkins, Singleton, Moses, Braker and Ross all add desperately needed speed and athleticism at LB. I could see us adding the right vet at LB. As EE's at CB Pickett and Phillips will be ready to play week 1, PJ Woodland should take a big step forward in his first offseason. Stamps will fit m much better as a dime CB. Since the services caught on to Anding he's vaulted up and will also be a great CB under Raymond's, we RS'ed 3 CBs this year, I don't think we need a transfer at CB, that money will be much better spent at S where we need at least 1 probably 2 to give our young guys time and vets to learn from. We need a bigtime 7-8 sack DE to add to Womack and Reliford. Hopefully CJ Jackson will be ready to give reps after RSing. The two Fr Edge guys have alot of promise but probably won't be ready this year. If Stewart signs he's such an freak of nature he might be able to give good reps this year but he's short on experience and will be really young. If we could add a starting DT to pair with Guillory then heavily rotate Mckinley and Breaux along with Suggs & Shone Washington DT could be a strength next year, with Zion Williams size and strength he could fight for reps as a Freshman. With this class we will be much closer than alot of people think, the biggest need by far that absolutely has to be addressed for us to improve is Safety, if we get Safety fixed in offseason we will be ok

Is this the next myth the rant comes up with only to melt when it doesn’t come to fruition? Guillory being a difference maker?
The hurt players are always All Americans on the rant…

I love the optimism. But I hate BK's love for experience and seniority. Therefore, I think we are going to be crushed by the transfer portal. We are going to lose some big name former recruits to the portal as soon as the season ends. Kaleb Jackson, Da'Shawn Womack, and Shelton Sampson are three dudes that immediately come to mind who will be portal dudes in a month in three major positions of need. WR, RB, and DL.

Anyone with eyes not blinded by the hypetrain can see that Perkins is really not that good. He is not worth the money by any means. Stats mean something, and he is just not the player the blinded make him out to be. Has nothing to do with "how he is used." Honestly he would be better playing offense, or gone.

This isn’t that big of a deal. He’s not a SEC level starter. Depth piece only.

8-4 or 9-3. We thought this year was shaping up nicely also.
Posted on 11/19/24 at 11:35 am to tigerbait1.6
If he moves to the star position, and drops 6-8 lbs, he could be a fing nightmare for teams again. Run heavy that puts him spying qbs, pass heavy has him covering te and coming on designed blitzed. 3rd down you unleash he'll with him, reliford, womack, weeks, mckinley or Thanos likely coming in.

Well this years pretty much over, we DO have a top 3 class including the #1 overall player and QB, We're likely to add Stewart who was the #1 player in the 26 class at a HUGE position of need so yeah....we're rightfully looking forward to next year

You sure about that??? A month ago I agreed with you, not convinced anymore.

WR group doesn’t look experienced
We're likely going to have most if not all of AA, Hilton, Johnson, Pimpton, Parker, Thomas, + all the RS retruning. We won't lack experience.

Possible new QB
I doubt it. Nobody in NFL or college would recommend he leave unless he really needed the cash. Almost all GM/scouts tell guys they need to start two years.

Will start 0-1.
Clemson is probably going to be worse off than us. I like our chances.
