If O goes 9-3 or better he keeps his job, it’s pretty clear. Should be 10-2, but the excuses will flow if it’s 9-3.

But if he goes 8-4 or worse, is the regression enough to keep his job? Why or why not?

8-4 or worse he has to be gone. He got the staff he wants, and the talent is there. If 9-3/8-4 is the bar, why'd we fire Les?

He will get 5 years. Administrations don't fire coaches after 2 years even of they have losing records. If he has a losing record next year and in 2019 he may be gone but he will do better than that.

To be clear, you’re saying if he goes 5-7 he won’t be fired?

Thats the worst part, the bar was at 10 for Miles, but with the way everything has been going, it seems O his own level of standards

No. He has to have 3 years of his own recruiting and 2 more years to show results, that is how it works.

Like it or not O is here to stay. Alleva hired him because he is his guy. Not gonna fire him 2 years later.

So you’re saying even if Orgeron loses 12 games, he gets to have 3 years?

I’m calling bull fricking shite on that.

I think he gets 3 years ( unless there is a total collapse) to show improvement or signs that the program is headed in the right direction. If not, I believe he’s toast

Well if he goes 8-4 he definitely has a better shot at staying than Miles did, which doesn't make any sense to me

If he goes 8-4 hes probably staying. 6-6 next year and the seat is extremely hot/probably gone. 8-4 the 3rd year and hes most likely gone.

If you take over a shithole

Not if you take over a good team.

It’s make, break, or wait and see. 10-3 would be wait and see. 11-2 would be a solid season that would have everyone optimistic. 9-4 would get him another uear, but it would be ugly. 8-5 would mandate firing.

O ain’t gonna lose 10 games..... and how much money did LSU make during those 12 games. That’s what the BOS is looking at.

You are playing games now. To get answer to your question just go and check and see how many SEC coaches have been fired in less than 5 years without cause. It doesn't get any worse than Johny Jones, how long did he coach? I agree that he has to show he is on the right track, otherwise, his seat gets very hot after 3 years.

I think If he has a losing season next year there is no reason to give him a chance to right the ship.

There is nothing in his history to indicate he can.

If he has a disappointing season say 8-5 he better have a great season in 2019.

The new AD will do that.

Peas will be gone before O is fired.

They're a package deal...........
