Did anyone on here make that trip? If so how was it? Just randomly thinking about old away games that might have been cool to check out.

That would have been a cool trip if Les wasn't such a retard. That game was absolutely miserable to watch.

Not really referencing to the actual game more so the town. I’ve always heard Syracuse is an awesome college town and in the fall it’s nice

We had a blast. Not a lot of good food but they had a couple nice pizza joints and a good steakhouse. Plenty of places to go drink after the game. But it was dead after the game. It was nice to get out the heat for a couple of days.

At the time I thought it was a random home and home but the more I learn about NY the more I think I would have enjoyed this away game.
Would love more of these OOC games vs teams up north even if it’s not big time matchups. Like a series with Virginia or Boston College in October would be cool too.

Great trip. Their little strip of bars and restaurants on Walton Street was fun the night before the game. Blue Tusk was the name of a bar where they had a good amount of LSU fans.
It made for an awesome road trip. So many pretty places in upstate New York and the Finger Lakes region. Lots of unexpected and interesting wineries too.
Their fans were nice. They’re more of a basketball school so I wasn’t expecting a raucous atmosphere.

Such a shame they prefer money grabs like USC In Vegas over this. LSU at Syracuse seems so much more pure. Classic traditional CFB.

Pretty good game for a noon start. Shame we had to vacate that win.

It was a memorable trip. The noon kickoff really killed any atmosphere there potentially could have been. Probably the most memorable part of the trip for us was driving to Cooperstown on Sunday and having a great day there.

not nearly as miserable as the return trip was.

It was a fun trip, we took the whole family and did Niagara Falls the day before. One of the most surprising things for me was the “Carrier Dome” was not air conditioned so it was a bit warm.
Otherwise we had a great time. Lots of Tiger fans and our section made it on TV several times.

really?
I know Syracuse is a cold weather area, but that many people inside would seem to get warm just on body heat alone.

The north country is beautiful. I tell people to go north from Syracuse to The Thousand Islands/ St Lawrence River region for a day trip (where I’m from) , as it is truly beautiful. Google Thousand Island New York and look at the pics.

My deceased wife and I made a two week trip in the RV. Went to Montreal and then after the game spent a week in the NE watching foliage. She past away the next year.
No A/C in the Carrier Dome made for a warm afternoon. I still smile as the Orangeman went up the steps where we sat and she thought that was the most awesome thing ever.

Was a great experience. Met up with a great friend from Canada that graduated from LSU. Their tailgating isn’t much to talk about, but everyone was very friendly. Could have been due to cooking boudin balls, grilling Redfish and anything else Cajun I could bring. Neat stadium. Fun nightlife on the strip. Finger lakes are something to see. Would go back

I was there. Seemed the whole town was shut down by 5pm.

Great trip and great LSU crowd. it really was hot in that dome. I hear SU has had it air conditioned in the ensuing years.

Had the opportunity to go but didn’t. Wish we scheduled fun road trips like those again. Smaller, but respectable programs like Syracuse and Washington.

Yup! Carrier dome has no air conditioning but they had a nice strip of bars. Hotel room was reasonable and watching fournette run over them was well worth it
