Why do you think Jarrett Lee would've been better?
But he didn’t, and we’ll never know what Lee might have been able to do because he never got the chance. Les kept him on the sidelines, and the end result was entirely predictable. And pathetic.

It was a team effort, just like every other game in 2011. Lee did a good job when asked, but all said and done, JJ had better results leading the offense.
61-100
61.0%
737 yards
7.4 ypa
6 TD
2 INT
138.7 Rating
Lower than Jarrett Lee is EVERY category.

shite gameplan... same thing would've happened with Lee, just with more interceptions.
No one is out here saying Jefferson was a good QB, it's just Lee was even worse.
What's the worst thing that could've happened putting in Lee on 1/9?
Losing the game?
The very last game of the season?
In that scenario, you leave absolutely nothing on the field and do everything you possibly can to win the game even if you doubt it would work but JJ clearly wasn't working either.
Les just sulked on the sidelines stone faced, arms folded and let JJ stay in the game and let Bama humiliate us with no clear sign of passion against that.

I just love how people have selective memories. Jarrett Lee was very good in 2001. His 2011 stats:
104-167
62.3%
1306 yards
7.8 ypa
14 TD
3 INT
If Nick Saban said 2+2=4, people would downvote it.

Just finished watching. I remember the game well. Never a better example of an LM team. Pound the ball & play D. Yes, JJ was pretty bad!
That was a GA beat down with the Tiger OL, DL & RB depth. They wore down the opponent week end & week out.
The rerun is a reminder of how much I miss TM. The key d was just a great college playmaker.
Should have won it all that year to keep the 4 year repeat alive, but alas, there was JJ.
FWIW, 2019 falls in that 4 year string. ??

I had forgotten how big of a piece of garbage Jefferson was.
My God.
My God.

JJ wasn't a world beater, but added mobile QB with fairly similar stats. You could ignore agenda and post both player stats for honest effect.

Lee had a really good year for LSU in 2011. We probably couldn't have beaten Bama without Jefferson for 9-6 though. Running was a significant part of his game and he had a few hundred yards even with sacks for the year along with additional rushing TDs where Lee had negative yards rushing. I didn't think it was fair at all how Lee got basically kicked to the curb by Les after 9-6 though.

Jefferson started that game and played better than Lee in that game
Better should be a very loose term here.

You do realize you can be a huge Tiger fan and still be rational and able to see the truth?
You do realize that the game was almost eight years ago and everyone knows how bad he played and we still won by five touchdowns so running to post solely about that one player when watching that game is ridiculous and petty?

Should've been Mettenberger, not Lee.

This. I even remember EA Sports taking a Subtle jab at this in NCAA 2011 by having Mett’s Overall stats higher than Lee & Jefferson as the third string QB on the depth chart.
