Check out the final BCS standings and 13-1 Lsu is ranked higher than 12-1 Bama. We wound up first in FINAL BCS standings

Putting LSU bias aside, the greatest year for College Football beginning to end was 2007.

2007 was a ridiculous year filled with upsets every weekend

It was a fun time

That 2011 LSU team was the most solid ever. And, FWIW, the Tigers were an impressive 14-0 within the calender year 2011.

Who was holding the trophy that night? That's all that matters.

It was the official BCS final standings. Lsu should have been given the trophy. It was the BCS system. It is THIER final ranking.

Thought that was our year to establish a 4 year string tradition .... except ..... the matchup at the end was announced. Think Les knew the handwriting was on the wall, but wish he would not have made the comments he did. Great year & one of the best Tiger teams in my journey. Thinking there is one more before I reach the finish line ( can see the line, but can’t judge the distance) ??

The rankings you’re referring to are pre BCS title game.

Many many fond memories through the years, but this one season was one of the greatest ever.

This, along with Roy Jones Jr in the Olympics and the 72 men's basketball farce, are the biggest travesties in the history of sport.

LSU's "reward" for winning the "game of the century" on Bama's home field when both teams knew it was for all the marbles was to have to play an extra game against a top 10 team in order to has a rematch with the Gumps. To hell with the Gumps and every lowlife that put them in that game.

They don't do a final ranking, but would be curious on how close it was if they did.

We had a very tough non conf maybe the toughest we’ve ever had I’d have to check that though. Def not the toughest all time and def one of our weaker conf schedules. Our conf opponents averaged 3 wins and that’s including Alabama and Arky who won a combined 13 sec games. A great season but totally overhyped by the Rant.

That coach has yet to be hired anywhere.

And we got bailed out a few times with Tyrann Matheu kick returns. And wasn't that the year we almost lost at North Carolina?

That was an incredibly talented LSU team, but some here are giving Miles' coaching ability too much credit.

No that was Pat Peterson who bailed us out vs UNC. Again it was a great season but overrated by a lot of Rant fans. Even the schedule myth is false.
SOS ratings
2011 - .627
2015 - .697
2001 - .641

It's just a shame Miles didn't give us a chance in the national championship game.

That was the most pathetic representation of LSU football and the biggest F-you to the fans and admin I’ve ever seen. Miles should’ve been fired at the very next misstep after that. As soon as he brought up Arky Alleva should’ve called his bluff and said go we don’t want you and if you wanna stay here you’ll never get another raise.
