The shrinking of the k zone is also contributing to that. But yes, every slapdick college hitter hitting balls 111mph exit velo is suspicious considering how few major leaguers do that

It's a good way to see how this team stacks up to our last Champs. It's a bit of fun.

ERA should be lower in 2023 when you factor in the change of the bats

It looks like whatever changes were made happened last year, at least when it comes to HR rate. That said, there’s clearly been a big jump in offense overall in the SEC going from last year to this, so it’s about more than just the HRs.
Oh I’m sure offensive numbers across the board are up. I saw that tweet about the HR and thought it was interesting that it was that high again.

Friday night loss to Illinois and losing a late season series against a bad Tennessee team comes to mind

They may well have tightened the balls last year.
But bat companies will continue to figure out how to create hotter bats, even within the restrictions set before them.

Get Dugas back, Ack, and Coleman and proceed to get better as a team without allowing free bases and this team is elite.

Who is the Louis Coleman of the staff?
Paul Skenes.
I liken Skenes more to Anthony Ranaudo, just better.
The major thing on that team was they could come with Louis Coleman and have two games where it was going to be hard to beat LSU.

The 2023 hitting numbers will likely drop a bit
I doubt this. The toughest part of the schedule is over.
Plus at this point in the season you have so many data points that a major change in numbers is unlikely.

Should have been here for the mid-week loss to Nicholls State late in the season. If it were up to tRant the ‘09 team would have forfeited the rest of the season.

Marty was solid. I wish Matty would have had half of Marty’s talent.

Curious to see the OPS comparisons.

getting Ackenhousen and Coleman back will help alot... I think some guys are gonna step up in the bullpen. got too much talent...
the secret to all of this is whether Thatcher Hurd stops putting enormous pressure on himself to strike everyone out... If he would just go out there and pitch to contact and stop trying to be so fine with everything that dude would be a 1st rounder... its all up to him..
You get Dugas back soon , and you get Kling back in 3-4 weeks.. Joebert and Pearson have to time to produce... Neal, needs to fix his swing this summer... too much loft...
I say go for broke and let the big man hit if Dugas isnt in the lineup.
