Yep. I was there. I was showing my grandson my ticket from that game. We were looking at his football and baseball card collections. I'm giving it to him, just wish it had an autograph or 2 on it

That game should have been 31-7 instead of 21-14

The FG by Gaudet that was wiped out due to multiple penalties kept it a game. That would have made it 24-7 late third. A three-score lead would have sealed it. OU's two TD drives combined for maybe 40 yards.

My now husband and I had just moved to Dallas and watched this game in a bar full of Oklahoma fans. It was glorious.

It's always memorable to win a national championship, but they played their best game against Georgia in the SECCG.

I was there! 10 years old, changed my life. I was already a huge LSU fan but that cemented me as a tiger for life!! We sat in the end zone one deck up and I watched Justin Vincent rip off that huge run right towards us and it was ON. Lost my voice by the end of the game. Can still remember Saban raising the crystal ball like it was yesterday!! GEAUX TIGERS!

First thing that comes to mind when this game is brought up is it being my first time seeing HD television. Neighbor ordered it on HD and half the block went over there to watch the game. Blew my mind, you could see the hair on their arms!!

The defense absolutely shut down what was considered at the time the greatest offense ever.

If not for offensive mistakes, LSU would have won by two more scores.

LSU came out in that weird punt formation and got it blocked.

That defense was incredible.

This was the famous Oklahoma team that beat A&M 77-0. Stoops sorta implied even he the coach couldn’t slow them down. That’s how good they were.

i'll never forger the half time talk the reporter asked about facing LSU's #1 ranked defense and Stoops very harshly clarified "they're the number 1 scoring defense we're the number 1 defense"

It’s only one of the handful of days that I cried. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, I didn’t think I would ever see LSU win a championship. We are now spoiled. I remember the true joy of LSU beating Michigan St in the 1995 Independence Bowl. Now it’s hard to get excited for anything less than a playoff birth.
