Elite NCAA sports. If you can’t perform hit the bench. Happens in every other sport but this one.

If alonya doesn’t make beam lineup in post season these coaches will never change.

To be fair, Desiderio at the time was a HUGE get, but obviously injuries got in the way for her. Not to downplay her contribution to the team tho, which has been incredible.

Well I’m over the Dean experiment on bars and floor and the Durante experiment on vault and beam.

Here’s the thing - I knew Sami would be off after she fell on vault, this whole board did and you can’t tell me Jay doesn’t know that about the mental toughness of his athlete. So just make the change (maybe not forever, but tonight in such a streaky sport like gymnastics). I get that Sami has Conroe items much to uneven bars but she has never been the most consistent on beam anyway and I feel is very susceptible to throwing the baby out with the bath water once a mistake is made

I will say..... many people on here were passionate about Jay needing to be the head coach and DD needed to go.........here we are.

I know a lot of people complained about DD holding LSU back but Jay might be proving otherwise.
Something has to change. Lineups, routine construction, training specifics.
You have kids making lineups on the merits of seniority over actual production. You have coaches who put difficulty at the expense of execution and consistency.

Also yes not a great meet obviously, but go Alyona!! Rocked the shite out of vault and beam. Haleigh was a rockstar too(of course), and proud of Kiya as well.
