TBob has mentioned this twice already this morning. I know they have struggled mightily win in state road game but the first in state road win since 2016 seems wrong. Too lazy to look at old schedules

I wouldn't have guessed that. It's an interesting fact. Meaningless, but interesting.

Technically, he is correct.

We beat ULL 3-2 in Metairie on April 11, 2017, so a neutral site.

The last true road in-state win was a 9-4 win over Nicholls on March 2, 2016.

Jesus...

My first question is do we really play a lot of instate games on the road.

Outside of ULL and Tulane... most of the state's other colleges don't really have the venue to host LSU.

Maybe I'm wrong but the number of games played on the road in the state is probably pretty low.

Combine that with the fact that almost the entire 2020 season was cancelled and it isn't hard to believe, especially when we are playing mostly mid-week singles against the instate schools.

Typically once per year, IIRC. Not including the Pontiff Classic typically played in N.O., technically a neutral site

Quick research suggests it snapped a six-game losing streak in these types of games. 0-2 in 2017 and 2018, 0-1 in 2019 and 2020.

they might not, but they still do every once in a while. that's why we're the state of college baseball

i was surprised to see they even had a loss to Southern thrown in there...

We routinely play at Nicholls, their stadium holds less than 1000 I think.

I also remember us playing at Southeastern and I think Northwestern too.

I attended the loss to Northwestern in Natchitoches. I think it was 2019

no, it’s just not even remotely as big a deal as the anti-Paul crew makes it out to be.
