So many great players on the field that night.

"Anthony Muñoz, Ronnie Lott, Marcus Allen, Bruce Matthews, and Charles White won the 1979 Heisman Trophy."

I watched that game. USC was bailed out with a face mask penalty on 4th down late in the game.

Ironically, reversing the last two digits and you have 1997 #1 Florida at Tiger Stadium

Forty-five years from now, people may still talk about this Clemson game.

I was there. We got screwed by the refs.
I consider that the greatest game in Tiger Stadium history that we lost.

Remember when coach Johnny Robinson was here under Orgeron?
At banquets he used to tell a good story about when he met his wife. She was from Baton Rouge and was a bank employee in Los Angeles. When he met the pretty lady he engaged her in conversation. When she told him she was from Baton Rouge, he said “We played in Tiger Stadium once “. She told him “I know you did. And you won the game by cheating “. She was pretty. His response was “Damn, you have a good memory You are right “. Of course that got a good laugh.

The USC Trojans rolled off the buses at the Belmont Hotel in Baton Rouge, John Robinson leading the way. They looked every bit like America’s team — sharp, confident, built for the spotlight.

Later, at the LSU pep rally, Charlie Mac brought his boys. The crowd shook the place. The heat, the noise, the energy — it felt like the whole campus was waking up for something bigger than a game.

In that moment, I knew we were going to beat their arse.

I was there. To this day I feel like those 78,000 people were louder than any game I’ve been to with over 100,000.

Phantom face mask on John Adam's. It never happened. I saw it on the field and in the film the next day. Without that bogus call #1 goes down game 1 of that season in Death Valley. We wipped their arse and they knew it.

Was there with my day. Had tears coming out of my eyes I was so angry at the phantom face mask call. LSU beat #1 USC on the field that day regardless of the final score. And some say that was the greatest offensive line in the history of college football.

RIP David Woodley.

David Woodley knew what it meant to play for LSU. Tough. Proud. Unafraid.

Good guy.

I was there! My junior year at LSU. Incredible game! Best game I ever witnessed where we lost. Girls in student section were crying and sobbing.
