This mentality is taking over that the refs are right in the center of everything. They will openly say “the game was getting out of hand. It’s our job to keep it competitive and the ratings high.”

Everybody is forgetting the gambling aspect of this too. The refs may be trying to keep it close for the gamblers, spread, etc
