Dylan Crews is hitting .510.

That is absurd and it needs to be talked about more.

It's not talked about as much because it almost seems expected due to how hard he hits the ball. We've sort of taken him for granted because of how good he's been from the day he stepped on campus, but this season has been crazy for him so far. I wouldn't be surprised too see him still over .400 in June.

He’s gotta be there at least in the convo. Honestly at this point if it wasn’t for Walker he’d already be there. It’s really just a convo between him and Walker IMO.

That's with pitchers trying to avoid the zone. Neal and him lead the team in walks by a wide margin.

Absolutely, and with the lineup it's not going to be easy for other teams to just pitch around him consistently. Kinda makes me wonder what the big league batting coaches are gonna tell him about ... not alot at first I would imagine.

Not as good as Aaron Hill or Mike Fontenot according to that idiot at the end of last season.

Him Walker and The Big Easy (Doc Furniss). Doc did have the juiced bats. He has juiced bats (don’t give me that shite about the bats not being close to those at least in the mid-90’s) and balls are different as a matter of fact. These are NOT BB Core bats like those circa Aaron Nola era 2012ish. That is why it is hard to compare Nola with other pitchers that had to fight those MUCH different bats AND now balls.

I’m not saying Crews isn’t great. I’m saying he is more comparable to Furniss than Walker.

We leaving Joey bell out of Conversation completely?

Edit : I'm almost convinced it's Crews end of story but it's a long history.

Are you saying Crews has more of an advantage with bats/balls to Walker? I strongly strongly disagree. Walker didn’t have the prime 1998 bats, but they still had quite the pop compared to today.

Agreed.

I would also argue - not tonight, but in general - that we've seen some Umps ready to call a standing third strike to punch him out - in some type of pride narrative that 10 years later he has a story to his grandkids that he called that strike.

Bell is like Honey Badger except the grudge he kept.
He was an ALL TIME great and I would have him as a HOF / Number retired if he didn’t go through what he did. He may have been better than all of them tbH. No juiced bats OR balls.
He was a stud.
