12min to go in the game, 3rd and goal from the 2. We go wildcat.

Jones had just gashed them in back to back runs. Then you pull Leavitt, go to that jumbo wildcat formation and get stuffed for a loss.
We were down by 3 and had ALL the momentum. Instead of taking the lead we settle for a FG. I hope next time Lane just goes fast, lines up and spreads them out. Ole Miss had 11 dudes crashing on the snap.

everything about that play was mysterious. Why was Clark all of a sudden in the game. Did anyone think that we weren't going to run the wildcat up the middle again?
I thought LK was going to bring some imagination to our offense after what we suffered through last year, but that plays was BK on steroids.
I was actually hoping that after running two wildcat as OP said, that by bringing Clark in was a distraction, and Jones was going to do his best Tebow imitation and step back after the rush in the middle developed, and throw a dink pass to Clark who slipped out to the left side, for a clever play call TD. But no, we did our normal no imagination BK crapola.
That was a real head scratcher call.

at least run sam on a rollout and give him a pass-run option. use a high low concept.

It was on the 3 but I agree. I would have rathered spread it and have Leavitt scramble.

Like you said if it was to set something up ok but you have a decoy out there that nobody is even paying attention to because he’s the backup. Way too cute, didn’t need it and it might’ve cost us a score.

For the so called offensive gurus we have on staff, I have yet to see any groundbreaking creativity in the redzone.

He's getting paid the type of money not to have plays he'd like back in crunch time in the biggest of games. The play calling was very disappointing to me. There was little to no creativity. We just had to rely on better execution than OM and we are not there yet. Coaches need to help out more on offense.

I think the rb had an option of passing/pitching to qb. ( he was wide open and would have walked in) , but the left tackle got pushed into the backfield and blew up the play.
They set it up earlier in the game with a similar play. If so it was a great call but terrible execution like many other plays last night.
