It doesn't seem that way on here. But for as much shite as people talk about this site, while it's not necessarily the majority opinion of LSU fans, it's a more informed opinion.
ETA: Nevermind, I misread your post. I thought it was BOS people wanting to garner support for Bianco and using local media to do it. I now see you meant that the local media are gaslighting the BOS. And I agree.

The Bianco hire just doesn't make sense...he could have been hired a week ago.

I intentionally stayed away from the Facebook comments when the Bianco rumor got started, but I would bet every penny I have that The Advocate's Facebook post was full of comments from Betty, 68-years-old and from Pineville, LA, who thinks Bianco would be a great choice because he's a nice guy and played here and "we'd be stealing him from Ole Miss!!!"

Woodward could very well have interviewed Bianco already. He also could very well have interviewed Godwin.
Woodward is clearly waiting for the end of the CWS or for certain teams to be out - as a courtesy in order to conduct interviews with CWS coaches.
My logical interpretation is just that.
Woodward also could just be waiting to interview Vitello and Cordin just to say he did his due diligence only to then hire Bianco. So the fan base isn't up in arms.
That scenario is also on my mind.
We won't know shite until the CWS is over.

I understand the question, but it's possible the delay isn't on Bianco making a decision and rather LSU's red tape and bureaucracy.
One explanation is the AD and coach have come to terms...and it's now up to the board to approve. And, as we know, the board seems to be getting more and more involved.
Given the Title IX issues, this could be waiting on a 3rd party background investigation.

Might be down to whether LSU gives him a $1M or $1.5M raise and a 7 or 10 yr guaranteed contract.
This deal was probably done months ago. To say there was a "search" is looking more and more like B.S. with every passing day.

After the Pellini disaster you can bet that SW is gonna go slowly and methodically through these coaches and get the best he can. I hope so at least. Drink up fellas it might be a little while before we know

The BOS does not hire the coach, SW does. The only time they get involved is to approve the contract. Ole Miss's AD shot down any timetable for Bianco to even have been interviewed yet. I don't think SW has even interview Bianco yet, much less given him an offer. I think every one is getting taken for a ride. People give way too much stroke to BOS when it comes to hires.

That’s not it at all. It’s we know we have him ready to accept, we are trying to shoot shots at better candidates and if by next week they all say no, we have our fallback in Bianco.
