"Coach O got on his arse and told him to ship up or ship out"

I think you mean "shape up or ship out"

We love Aranda. Having said that his defense has been good not great. He finally has a couple of legit nose tackles.. the back 7 is very good. Mullen has out schemed Aranda three times in a row. Bama has blown our line off the ball for several years.

The “best defensive coordinator”. Should do better than that.

The Texas A&M game was a black eye for him. The highest paid DC in the land should have a defense that can get a stop once in 7 tries.

But the offense has been steaming horse shite.
The “best offensive coordinator” should do better than that.

Yes, the D has room for improvement because of personnel issues, but quit expecting the defense to be perfect so the offense can continue to suck.

This narrative that the offense hasn’t been the number one problem at LSU needs to die. The 2013 offense paired with last year’s defense would have made it to the NCG.

A&M hung 70+ on Aranda last year.

They really need to stop keeping score in OT, the score means absolutely nothing and it throws off stats.

It's almost like Mullen is a really good offensive coach. What's it going to take for some of you to realize that?

Who said he was the best defensive coordinator?

I hope this is the year we finally start holding the offense to the same standard as the defense, because all it's been under this coach is excuses.

More 4 man fronts to stop the run is the main thing we will see that’s different than most years. He may add more concepts with a veteran D like this year.

Maybe if we had an offense worth a damn, his defense wouldn’t be counted on winning every game..

LSU’s defenses were counted on in the past to make up for the offense, it did so brilliantly many times. Why should Aranda be held to a lower standard? He knew the deal.

up 7 with less than 2 minutes on the clock and opponent has to drive over 80 yards to tie...I expect the best, highest paid DC in the country to win the game for us. You don't?

Or we could have gotten one first down and iced the entire game.

Also didn’t we get a sack (knee down where the clock didn’t run) and a pick, both waived off by the refs on the final drive?

This wasn't the case in the A&M game. At worst, we would have been tied going into their final drive in regulation.

You can't give up a 4th and 18, and another 17 yard pass play as time expires on the same drive. it's unheard of.

But outside that, the defense played well.

He's a sharp guy. He understands it and will fix it, unlike a certain other DC we had for a few years.

remember seeing an interview with Coach Aranda right when he was hired and he talked about getting the basic concepts put in. He went on to say that once his players understand those, he will expand what they can do and it will open a lot of options. Maybe some of this is a result of some guys who have a few years learning his system and he is now adding more for them.

If his system requires two full years for college players to learn, then it's a bad system.

Sort of like, maybe if we keep repeating the LSU passing offense will improve, it will come true.

It makes no sense for any LSU fan not to expect to win that game with our defense on the field and a 7 pt lead...do yall not think DA is the best DC in the country?

I would bet anything that DA thinks we should've won that game even after we punted.

the officiating and reviews screwed us on the last drive
