If I told you BK would accomplish this with how bad the program was when he took over, would you have taken this?

Year 3.. hell no

Saban went 8-5 in year three.

He lost to Virginia Tech in the opener 26-8

Auburn 31-7

Alabama 31-0

Arkansas 21-20

And Texas in the bowl game.

Some wins weren’t exactly against murderers (Miami of Ohio, USL / Ulala, Citadel, 3-9 Moo State, 7-6 Ole Miss…a 14-13 score, and an unforgettable Blue Grass Miracle against Kentucky.

He won the title in year four.

Your dumbass would have fired Saban after year three.

I agree but this year was definitely a step back from what I expected

I think we all hoped for more. I was a little concerned about Nuss' tendency to be reckless with the ball at times. I think he was generally better than I expected there though he had a few relapse games.

I am hopeful for next season but concerned about all the new players and team chemistry. But time will tell.

Year 1 - over achieved. Great job BK.
Year 2 - met expectations but feels like a missed opportunity with the talent on the offensive side of the ball. Heisman winner was cool. Defensive performance was unacceptable.
Year 3 - underachieved. Regressed. Lost a week one game lsu should have won. Got curb stomped by bama. Got manhandled by Texas AnM. Didn’t sniff contention for a playoff spot.

So NO. Even considering what he inherited - i don’t think the results have been up to par, and seem to be trending in the wrong direction. Hopefully Nuss coming back and the transfer portal haul will put us in a better spot in 2025.

I’m reverse order, yes. BK said to judge him on year 3 and honestly year 3 was sub par and didn’t show the progression I was hoping for.

If you told me we would lose 4 games in year 3 and be all but eliminated from a 12 team playoff with 3 games remaining, I would be wishing we had rebuilt with a younger guy.

But, here we are. I hope his arse proves me wrong in year 4.

Unranked in year 3.

Lost 3rd opener in a row.

BK is still an a-hole, and a very expensive one at that.

After winning the SEC and the Sugar Bowl and a top 10 finish.

And while I didn't want Saban fired after year 3, I wasnt thrilled with 2002 and expected better results in year 4. Kelly doesn't have to win a title year 4, but he needs to make the playoffs.

I agree.

Your take is reasonable and logical.

Weirdly…untrue.

A win at Florida and who knows.

Nonetheless, their running qb was healthy, and we legit lost.

yep - in today's world, you don't need 4 years to turn a program around.

Do you have any examples of programs that had a losing record in the prior two seasons that were turned into consistent winners in less than 4 years?

Would I have taken it? Yes. But I'd also want a bit more as well. We shouldn't be losing more than 2 games a season imo.

The little penis syndrome is big in here tonight. What happens if ND wins it all?

Then Freeman would have won a title with a program that Kelly rebuilt.
ND 3 years before kelly
3-9
7-6
6-6

notre 3 years before Freeman
12-1
11-2
11-2

Embarrassing

Especially the regression in Year 3 and the pitiful defense in Year 2

Bowl wins are absolutely meaningless

You think it's embarrassing winning the west in year 1,finishing 12th and having a hesiman qb in year 2, after taking over the worst lsu roster since Dinardo?

Kelly didn't even inherit a lsu program with a 2 deep roster of scholarship players.

Does Coach O get any credit for this because these were his recruits?

Or does that only apply to every HC coach in America not named Orgeron?

________

We have heard this about 10 million times now. His pay is relative to the market.

Where do our fans want the pay for the LSU coach to rank amongst coaches? Top5? Top10? Average?
