re: 10-2 is the floor and 12-0 the ceiling. We have a senior laden team now but not next year.

10-2 is not the floor.
95% of LSU fans would be ecstatic with 10-2

Agree 10-2 or 11-1 is very possible

If you're really here using Nick Storz and Trey Finison as reasons we'll be a 10 win team then you're beyond lost, that's not even logic, that's pure hope with no reasoning at all

We are a couple injuries at cb/OL away from a 5-7/6-6 type season. That’s not doom and gloom, that is just reality. I think LSU will improve throughout the season, and from year to year.
My long term expectations are extremely high but it would do everyone well to look at this season with some objectivity.

Some of y'all need to understand what the meaning of "the floor" really is. Realistically this team could lose 6 maybe even 7 games with a few key injuries. I don't expect them to, but they could.
They could win all 12, but it is very unlikely, but they could if every ball bounced our way.
Floor is around 5-7 or 6-6. Ceiling is 12-0.
Neither of the above are very likely. I say 9-3 is the most likely outcome.

You seen the schedule?
Is it really any more arduous that most years?
FSU has talent, but they have been a middling ACC program for several years now. Perhaps this is the year they start to return to the powerhouse they used to be. But the game is in New Orleans, which history has shown generally favors LSU
The SEC road games are: Auburn, Florida, Arkansas and A&M. Could LSU lose to any or all of them? Absolutely. Auburn is picked to finish last in the SECW and no SEC program had a worse offseason than them. There was in-fighting everywhere and a coup attempt to fire the HC after one season. Things could go downhill very quickly there. Florida is LSU's mirror image in the East...a program with way too much talent to be so bad last season. Each program now has a new HC with reason to be optimistic. But I would hardly say a win at Florida seems like impossible task. Arkansas is very much on the upswing. But man for man are they remarkably better than LSU? I'm not ready to say that. Everyone believes A&M is right behind Georgia and Alabama in terms of talent. Maybe they are. But we just watched A&M go 1-1 in two close games vs. LSU's two worst teams in 2 decades! If you struggle to beat LSU at its most incompetent, what are you going to do when they are actually competent once more?
The home schedule is: Tennessee, Miss. St., Alabama, Ole Miss. Alabama is Alabama and LSU hasn't beaten them in Tiger Stadium since 2010. Not much to talk about there. Tennessee, Ole Miss and Miss. St are all solid teams. But are they so much better than LSU that LSU has little chance of beating them at home? Absolutely not.
The SEC has two programs that have separated themselves, Alabama and Georgia, followed by several that are all fairly even. I'm not one that thinks 10-2 is the "floor". But I don't really see the schedule as being any tougher than pretty much every year in the SEC.

If everyone would take their purple and gold shades off, it’s very obvious that the absolute floor for this team is 0-12. However, I would also point out, that if good fortune bounces our way this year, I could see a ceiling if 12-0. Just using logic here.

We have so many "what ifs" on this team.
IF they pan out I could see 10-2 happening.
Need to curb your expectations with so many what if's.

The floor. Agree. Ceiling is 11-1 with who knows in the post-season. D Line could be the best in CFB, which could push us to 11-1.

I’d be very happy with 9-3
Most likely scenario is 8-4 - which wouldn’t be Terrible.

We’ll be very good next year especially with the class coming in. The year after that we should be firing at all cylinders. This year, we could be great, we could also be 6-6

I don’t think you understand the concept of the floor.
The floor is generally thought to be the worst case scenario within reason.
You have to factor in the possibility of multiple key players getting hurt, some players or units underperforming, bad calls that screw is out of wins, etc.
If you think the worst we can do is win 10 games, you are living in La-La land.

Concerned about field goals. If we get that squared away, we are def 9/10 wins this season.
